• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    replacement tire for 2012 RT

Oh come on - all bald tires hydroplane? Oh wait a minute - that would be simple physics. No tread to help displace the water, so the balloon tire will float on water at higher speeds. Kind of like skipping a fat rock across the water with a 90 mph throw. I have the Kumho tire - still has some...

    TPMS

I have the Ride On TPMS LED Smart Cap - these are great. Look at your tires and if there is no "red" light on the Smart Cap - you are good to go. If your initial pressure goes down by 4 psi, the cap starts blinking red. Better price point then the monitor ones - and you can easily see the...

    Cabot Trail 2016 ride

Peggy's Cove is about 2 hours from the start of Cape Breton. It's about 30 minutes from Halifax. While at Peggy's Cove - please read the warning signs. People have died taking pictures on the wet rocks when a rogue wave comes in and people fall into the ocean and drown. While at Peggy's cove...

    Cabot Trail 2016 ride

The Cabot Trail is known to be FOGGY most times. Be prepared to ride in some damp weather. Also - we were near the Bras d'Or Lake this summer (at the Dundee golf resort), and some of the roads were HORRIBLE. I would suggest that you keep to the main roads going through Cape Breton - or at least...

    Fire in the Pass

Those are some powerful images - glad to hear that you were able to capture them from a distance and that your Spyder made it through OK. It horrible that CA and the surrounding area is going through a drought - and due to this, the land is crisp and dangerous because fires can come from...

    Battery Tender

I have a battery tender on my 2008 all winter each winter since I purchased it in the spring of 2013. I believe that its the original battery to the bike, and I have no idea what the previous owner did with the battery. Forget that it says motorcycle approved - I would worry about verifying...

    Check DPS Fault

BillyBovine - thanks for sharing this with me, I did not know that it was heavily dependent on power. I have seen a "blink" on my dash, where the dash looks like it shuts off quickly and then comes back on. So I would hope that this indicates a bad connection and that this is what is affecting...

    Check DPS Fault

finless - your such a buzzkill. Just kidding. Actually what you said makes sense, I guess I was using that terminology because I had seen it here - not that I believed in it. As you said the problem came back after 5 minutes on the Spyder this morning. I am hoping that this thing gets solved...

    Check DPS Fault

Hey Canuck Spyder - thanks for the reply. While riding home, the check DPS was on the screen. Got home, shut off the bike - pulled the key and 5 minutes later went back to the Spyder and put the key in, started it and the Check DPS was gone from the screen. So it may have gone away for now. What...

    Check DPS Fault

I love this website. Issue popped up on my Spyder, type it in Spyderlovers and here are a bunch of Q&As on the issue. Just fueled up my Spyder ('08 GS manual) and driving it back to work got the Check DPS alert on the panel. It was heavy on the steering, and thankfully it did not go into limp...

Another Spyder finds a new home

What do you wear on your Spyder? In HOT weather?

I'm with you - I wear something similar that I recently picked up at a bike show. High Viz, mesh with 2 liners. It's good from 30F to over 80F. I always wear the mesh jacket, modular helmet, gloves, boots and full length jeans. Sure it gets hot when you are stopped - but then it cools off really...

    "Nice Snowmobile buddy"!

LOVE the license plate!! My parents (in their 70's) have told me the same. Can't drive a 2 wheeler without training wheels on it? Yep - you guys never taught me how to ride without the extra support. ;) Last year I had a kid past me on a crotch rocket and he gave me thumbs down as he was...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

First off - sorry for all of those that own a 2013 Spyder that has this overheating issue. Not sure if this has been said before, but why would this not fall under the lemon law? Bring the Spyder in for heat issues, and keep bringing it in - if it cannot be fixed in 3 attempts (or whatever your...
