• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil drain plugs

$63.00 for 2 drain plugs ?????????????? do they hug & kiss you also ???

osm

i saw that after I posted it and wondered if they were sold by the oil companies. Googled showed more but it was getting late for me. I remember them being sold here a couple years back for about $15. Apparently there is some controversy about mag plugs as well. If the magnet is too strong will it magnetize the reservoir and you have a clump of metal debris just waiting to let loose and recirculate? With two filters on the bike are they necessary. Still finless fished, no pun intended, a set screw from his tank on a recent home oil change and the bike is now in the shop having the engine stripped down. Under warranty fortunately.

After reading the info on the Dimple magnetic drain plugs I ordered a set for the Spyder and one for the Tacoma.

They arrived today. I am in no way affiliated with Dimple and want to offer an opinion. These are a high quality item. The machining, the electroless plating, and high temp magnet, all of it is top quality.

I spent some time on the phone with the owner. In short, he is from the aerospace industry, which explains the quality of the parts. The drain plugs are made in the US and he employs Seniors to do the assembly.

This is one of those parts that will go unnoticed, but work hard to keep the oil ferrous particle free. Very important when you have a shared sump for the engine and gearbox.

Bought the mag plugs

And will install them at the first oil change. I've used them on other vehicals, my shaft drive Honda and Yamaha both have them on the back wheel. They are a good addition.

I installed the Dimple plugs on my 2014 RTS.
I also had them for my 2010.
Two important reasons.
First, the magnet. As mentioned in the thread, finless Bob caught a screw in the magnet instead of catching it in his engine.
Second, they have hex heads, so you won't strip the socket getting them out.

For a 998 MP01(engine) & Mp02(Oil reserve) I just put these in last week. Powerful magnets on both. $38 for both.
