• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

On my Spyder; Limp Home Mode, DPS failure, VSS, and CEL on the way home tonight..

Well.. it happened! After 10,500 miles with no issues...

On the way home tonight heading north on Hwy 196, the engine began sputtering, and all of these warnings came on. I was able to get it pulled over into a parking lot, and I could feel that the DPS wasn't working.
I shut it off, and let it sit a couple of minutes. I restarted it. And, everything was fine once again. DPS was working, as well. For the remaining 15 miles back to the house, everything was fine - like it never even occured.

This past weekend, I had the new back tire installed, and new brakes all around. Everything was just peachy! And, now .... this!:dontknow:

I emailed my dealer. I'm sure they will just asked me to bring it in..

Rut roh...something was 'dinged' with the changes you made...I'm sure the dealer will figure it out...what about the sensors on the rear wheel that were obviously tinkered with when you replaced the tire? Also, why change the tire at 10k?

Only change, I made was the Hindle, several hundred miles back. The tire was due for replacement; way into all wear indicators. They replaced the brake pads, and changed the oil. All for $670.19 :).

I rode 186 miles yesterday. Beautiful! Oh well... We will see what they say.

I just went out and checked the relays. The main relay was, in fact, loose. I re-seated it, and put some mini bubble wrap in the top, and put it back on.

Maybe BRP will introduce that custom made piece of foam for the fuse box and call it the "fuse pillow" and charge $29.95 for it.:roflblack:

No, ultra-foam cruising pillow...:roflblack:
Of course...they'll design it, test it, and never get it to market, like all their other accessories...

It is funny how everybody suggests putting foam under the top of the fuse box lid to put some pressure on the relays. My 2008 SE5 manufactured in July 2008 (as per the VIN sticker on the swing arm) came with foam already installed in the fuse box lid. Could it be that BRP was aware of that suggestion and incorporated it into the build of the bikes they built aft say July of 2008 ?

Just wondering but what was the date of manufacture for all those that had the loose relays and added foam to the fuse box lid ?

I picked my Spyder up 4-15-08, it has foam in the cover for the fuse block, but the foam must be there for sound deadening, it doesn't reach the relays or fuses.

Put a piece of foam inside top box

I check the relays every 300 miles when I check the oil level and mine have been tight. There already is a piece of foam in the top of the fuse box lid which is apparently just for the purpose of keeping the relays in place. Are you putting a thicker piece in and still able to get the lid to latch?

Mine has the foam inside the lid, as well. I took delivery of my Spyder 9/27/08. You can see the impressions in the foam of the relays. And, as I said; when I removed the fuse box lid, the main relay was unseated a little. The extra foam that I added, now keeps them seated firmly.

Can someone post a pic of their fuse box...I've never looked for it before to take a peek and see what surprises I'll find in mine! thanks...
