Bajaron bar

I'm just curious. Is there anyone with both an F3 and another Spyder with the Bajaron sway bar? Is the F3's bar as substantial as the Bajaron bar? I recall somewhere Lamont saying the F3 wouldn't need to switch out the sway bar. Again, just curious. Always looking for a way to make a great bike greater...

We have both and I just put the sway bar on the RTs VERY happy with the improvement. Since I am not an aggressive driver I wasn't sure if I would notice the difference. The F3 is next. I remember the comment from Lamont you are talking about but I bet if you ask him what he did the response might be different. Maybe it doesn't NEED it but I'm sure it can still benefit from it. A friend is in the process of installing Ron's ST sway bar on his F3. Not sold for the purpose but he thinks it will give him the ride he is looking for. I'm waiting to see what Ron comes up with.

I'm going with an RT take-off sway bar: according to the parts book drawings, you should look for a 2014 or newer, otherwise the bends are different. By my reconning, the RT bar will be 70% stiffer than the stock F3. The mounting blocks will need to be opened up for the larger bar and I want to replace the stock plastic links with solid metal ones (BR or Lamonster or fab my own).

BR bars are ~150% stiffer that stock and come with the appropriate hardware and new linkage pieces. SpyderDeb has one on her ST-L but not the solid linkage pieces.

Just ordered BahaRon's sway bar and links. Can't wait to see even more performance in the twisties. I'll have to wait until the dealer installs it as I'm not that mechanically inclined. I'll be ordering the Elka shocks when they become available. I've been emailing them and they are working on them as we speak.

Happy ryding!

I just installed the BAHA Ron sway bar on my '15 RT-S. Big physical difference in the bar and the ride. Had a little trouble with the nylon bar mounts but nothing serious (had to drill them out).

Have a '09 GS with a RonBar and Elkas. No body roll and goes through curves like it was on rails.

On my stock F3, put on 700 miles mostly going through sweepers and curves. No body roll, feels like it is on rails, went through the twisties faster than on the GS. Will wait till I get used to the F3 before putting money into performance add-ons.

A friend and I installed Bajaron swaybar and links on my 2014 RTL. We encountered the same issue with the nylon bar mounts as well. Ended up drilling the the mounts a bit. Once we got pass that the install went fine. The improvement of the ride was immediately noticeable. Crosswinds are no longer a problem and riding 2 up is great. Best investment made to date

As mentioned, my current ST bar kit is perfect for the F3. I've had some F3 riders using this bar and they have been very pleased. There are a number of people who feel that the F3 does not need a sway bar improvement so I was a bit skeptical until about offering a bar kit for the F3 until I got this positive feedback from the current users.

I have not made it general knowledge because I wanted to give these guys some time to get to know their Stock F3 and then get to know their F3 with my bar kit installed. Because the news is very positive, I will be making an official announcement soon.

This does happen with some installs. It is not exactly clear why some have this issue but most do not. Line boring the mounting hole or shaving a bit off the top of the bushing can be done. But it is my goal to improve these so no one has to do this.

I had a slight alignment issue with the bushing as well. Real close which I expect is the case with most people that run into it. Didn't want to risk damaging the threads of the mounting bolt by forcing it and it was easy enough to run a drill bit through it. Since it is your baby I'm sure you have already figured out that breaking the edge that comes in contact with the radius of the frame would probably be enough to make this a non-issue for everyone.

Loving the sway bar on the RTS and as soon as my wife lets me have it for a little bit I will be upgrading the F3. Kudos on a great product.

So has anyone put the BajaRon anti sway bar on the F3 yet? Kind of courious as to impressions before and after to decide if I should order one.

Mike,

I've had my BajaRon bar for a couple of weeks now and just came back from a quick 200 mile ride along Hwy 49 in the "Gold Country". Very nice! The F3 was pretty good in cornering to begin with but I will say there is a marked improvement with the BajaRon bar. It is noticeable. Even more so when riding 2 up. I would definitely recommend it if you ride 2 up or ryde the twisties aggressively like I do.

Ryde safe,
Robert

I just put one on mine and will agree with RPM.

Thanks

In Idaho we ride a lot on tight twisty roads plus my wife rides with me some of the time. I put an after market sway bar on my RS that helped a lot so guess I will put one on the F3 as well.

How difficult is the install on the F3?

I appreciate the feedback on the F3 bar kit. There was some behind the scenes testing for this bar kit as I didn't want to promote the F3 bar if it wasn't going to make a significant difference. Not here to sell ice cubes to Eskimoes. And though the initial reports were good. I still wanted to see what the average customer would say about this bar kit. (Ok, so there is no such thing as an 'Average' customer. But the people who were testing this bar were your more aggressive riders. Their opinion is not always a universal fit for the average rider.)

The F3 is by far the easiest install of any model with the EXCEPTION of having to lift the front 18"~20". But the biggest time/effort factor has always been messing with the Tupperware. This is not the case with the F3.

I must say that Spyderlovers is not only the best place for buyers to find what they want. But it is also a great resource for product producers as you really get a genuine feel for how your product performs here. Unedited, uncensored opinion is a priceless commodity for anyone wanting to produce a quality product.

I for one very much appreciate the feedback potential offered by all of you.
