There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Does anyone know how t o change t he transmission Filter on an RT 2014. My manual shows how to change the oil filter but not the transmission filter.

on the right side of the bike right around where you see the oil filter you will see the cover for the trans filter just left and slightly down from the oil filter

Not sure..!!

but do know it is internal and not a cheap or easy job. I believe you don't need to do it (have it done) till your at 25,000 miles. :dontknow:

Transmission Filter Change

Thanks for the input but Baharon says it is now recommended that the transmission filter be changed with every oil Filter change.

Confused I am....

You stated you have an RT 2014. The se6 has (semi automatic) has an internal filter in the clutch area that (you need to remove the clutch cover to replace it) needs replacing at some 25,000 miles. The sm6 has no trans oil filter. check what model you have...if not the RT triple different story.... if Ron is right its going to be big bucks for an oil change...:yikes:

Now I'm confused

CusnJohn stated that the trany filter for the RT 2014 is near the oil filter. It is an se6. You mean it'it's not just a matter of removing the cover and replacing the filter?

Page 122 of my operator's guide says replace the Hydraulic Control Module (HCM) oil filter (SE6 model only) and the canister pre filter every 28, 000 mi. I believe HCM controls the operation of the clutch system. There is a part called the oil filter cover and assembly, PN 420211155, that is part of the clutch cover. There is also an oil sieve, PN 420656885, that is part of the engine lubrication system. Neither of these parts is mentioned specifically in the maintenance schedule but that could be part of a whole service procedure.

If you think that the one of the advertised benefits of the Ace engine is reduced maintenance the requirement to change a transmission filter at every oil change flies in the face of reducing maintenance. Ron knows far more about the engine than I but, just saying. If such a change will in fact be required there will be screams of wallet pain throughout the Ace engine owning community. I kind of doubt the accuracy of the reported information.

2014 Se6 Transmission Filter

CusnJohn stated that the trany filter for the RT 2014 is near the oil filter. It is an se6. You mean it'it's not just a matter of removing the cover and replacing the filter?

The filter is the easy part to replace. It is locateed on the right side of the engine. The rectangular black plastic piece. It gets replaced at 28,000. It will have to be done by the dealer as the BUDs computer is required to purge the system of air. Last sentence bottom right of page.

Now I get it

My confusion was that Baharon was referring to the se5 not the se6. Thank you all for your feedback.
