Has anyone tried the Smart Mount Backrest from Big Bike parts on the comfort seat? If so, How does it work?
Thanks for any replies?

I bought mine used for $100 plus shipping, so it was not much of a gamble. I am very pleased to say the least. The only issue is that it cannot be removed without removing the lower bolt, but I never plan on removing it, so that is no problem. I have a 2014 rt with a comfort seat.Has anyone tried the Smart Mount Backrest from Big Bike parts on the comfort seat? If so, How does it work?

My brother in law has one, not quite as comfortable as my BRP one, but not bad.

But is the BRP one $300 better that is the question? LOL

I think that is the question that you need to ask your self. I tried the oem backrest in the showroom, and it is great. But, with me, I only needed one to keep me from slouching, and to give me a little support. The one that I have is very good for the price, and allows me to have some extra coin for other upgrades. But is the BRP one $300 better that is the question? LOL

I got my dealer to throw in a BRP backrest on the 2014 RT Limited I just bought. It's OK as-is but I wish it were adjustable. I haven't found a way to adjust backward/forward position other than possibly tilting the mounting bracket under the seat with washers. (I want mine tilted backward just a little.) Is this what others have done? Is there an easier way? Thanks.

You have to cut a slit into the seat as instructed by the makers instructions. It is a little scary to do, but all worked well. My seat already had a slot cut into it because the previous owner had a Utopia back rest installed. All I had to do was insert the bracket and install the backrest. How do you mount the backrest to your comfort seat?
That is the only way that we have discovered so far, on the rear two bolts use a 1/2 inch spacer. (makes a difference)

Do you have any pictures of this? (One of the spacers and one of the backs results.) My BRP backrest also makes me lean forward when I push my rear all the way to the back into the seat. I need it to let me to recline slightly.
