2014 RT Limited Steering Issue

Had laser alignment done today. Took it in because it was pulling to the right pretty bad. When you slightly let go of the handlebars you can physically see the handbars move to the right causing the bike to turn toward the side of the road. This happens quick, not gradually. The laser alignment found the front end to be out 1 inch. This was corrected and the power steering set to zero via the computer. After alignment the bike still pulls to the right the same as before the alignment. The alignment did take care of other issues and bike goes down the road straight except for the constant pulling to the right. One service tech, service manager, and store manager took it for a ride and all agree it pulls, however, did not have an answer. We all then took the 2014 demonstrator for a ride and it pulls to the right the same as mine. Dealer is baffled and will contact BRP. They have only done one other 2014 laser alignment and had the same issue, however, corrected it by cheating the laser settings. At this time they do not want to cheat mine but want a true fix. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Only seems to be on the 2014. All of the other alignments they have done have been good.

Don't know..!!

but would have to suspect wheel balance, rim, tire, ball joints or tire pressure. Don't know what they checked other than alignment. Hope they clear it up for you..!! :dontknow:

My 14 was moving to the right I wouldn't call it pulling but it definitely was going to the right had unequal tire pressure only .3 pound off in the right tire so check that. At Spyderfest I asked the BRP Tech and they said that they are looking into that because apparently they've had several complaints. I've been told that it could be a "bad" batch of tires. My dealer "fixed" mine..tracks true...there is another thread on SL on same issue. I personally would not be for cheating the laser.. Find the problem and fix the problem is my humble opinion.

Lamont and Harvey came up with a solution for this when they were doing their laser alignments down here in Flarda.

the crown of the road can affect pull- left or right depending on crown direction- also tire pressure as was said

I've noticed it on both the Demo. RT-s and on Sofia's RTL,I have not checked the tire pressure but don't believe every 14 has the same tire low,is anyone's 14 pulled left?

Our 2014 RTS has a little pull to the right but not very noticable and nothing
I am concerned with for now untill I can get the Rolo lazer alingment.

My 14 RT-L has a slight "pull" to the right as did my 12 RT-L. Both did the same thing even after being laser aligned. As noted if I let go of the handle bars I see the bars "jerk" to the right ever so slightly. Tried this in the left lane and the bike tracks straight so I'm thinking the crown of the road is keeping the bike straight. Just resting my left hand on the bars keeps the bike on track with my right hand off the bars. However with my right hand on the bars and my left hand off, I need to keep a pushing pressure on the bars to keep the bike on track. Hope this all makes sense.

Just received JT's equal pressure thingy yesterday and set both front tires to an equal pressure, 20 PSI. Gonna try it out today. Also gonna try and find a vacant, large, relatively flat parking lot this weekend to try and eliminate the road crown part of the equation.

I must add that this slight "pull" to the right is not a big deal to me, just a minor annoyance that doesn't stop me from really enjoying my 14 RT-L (pushing 7000 miles on the odometer since 20 March 14).

Nope, no pull to the left on my 14 RT-L nor did my 12 model pull to the left. I've even driven in the left lane of a two lane road to see if the "crown of the road" would cause a pull to the left...it didn't. So I'm thinking the slight pull to the right is compensating for the crown effect when I was in the left lane.

Had the same issue on mine, they found

The right front caliper was dragging, they took care of the caliper, reset the steering sensor and laser aligned. It tracks great now. Good luck and keep us posted...
