• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Like BlueStar I had an issue today with the 2014 RT

I tried to see how fast it would go and it wouldn't go fast enough. There was a really strong headwind and I could only get it to 93 in 6th gear. My husband was telling me to downshift and keep going but I didn't want to get hit by a big gust at that speed. I didn't get the opportunity to try it again on the return trip. I'll have to wait for another day.

We rode 300 miles round trip today to have lunch in Utah. Warmest day here since the end of summer. Gorgeous day on an awesome machine.

I'm on record as saying I've never exceeded 53 mph

Your husband may be correct

Several years ago in IL when I was still riding a BMW, I hooked up with some younger guys and found I could run faster in 4th than 5th. I took it to the shop and found the carb jets were wrong. Of course that will not be the case here, but it still may work.

I'm sure I could have gotten it faster if I downshifted but the wind was so strong and gusty that I didn't want to risk it.

The wind in some of those mountain areas can be something else. Glad you enjoyed the ryde. Utah is still some of my favorite country.

How much wind did you get up over the dash through the vents in the windshield? This is something I've been wondering about since there are no vanes to close the vents. Seems as though this wouldn't be ideal in cold or wet weather.

Good news..!!

fun ryde and a decent distance. Sorry about the head wind but haven't heard how fast or where the limiter is set. Will wait till you get a chance to try once more. We often cruise at that speed and hope the bigger engine extra gear will have a better top end..but it is still the ryde...:2thumbs:

I saw your question about the windshield vents on another thread and I commented there. There are no vents on the 2014 stock windshield. I had the optional vented windshield from BRP on my 2013 and I don't think that I will buy one for the 2014. You can open and close the vents but you can not adjust the flow. Check out the F4 customs windshield they have an adjustable vent similar to the Honda Gold Wings

I'm sure it will go faster. My friend was on a 2012 RT and she couldn't get any faster either. My husband was on a Honda ST1300 and he blew by us both.

40 Mph winds in the passes here today...gusts to 60 mph. 85 degrees...but wind so high you think you're speeding when you're stopped.

Good idea; Ann!
Never ride faster, than your Guardian Angel can fly...

When I had my 'Wing; I found that it was over 20mph faster in fourth; than it was in fifth...
:lecturef_smilie: NOT that I ever went up there at all... :lecturef_smilie: :D

You aren't complaining about that;are you? :D

The day after getting my demo I stopped by at my friends place. He took it for a spin, and got it over 100. I do not know how fast, but he did it. I have tried on the freeway, but the wind keeps me from doing it. There is a road by my work where I have taken my 2012 to 101 two times, and will try it there when the wind dies down.
