Help Identifying RT-S Taillight Wire

I am installing the AutoTune module with my PCV and it says to connect it to the taillight wire (12 volt power source) using a posi-tap. The following photo is from under the left rear side of the seat. It appears that all of the wiring to the rear of the bike comes from here. So my first question, is the taillight wire shown in this picture? Am I in the right spot?



Looking in the shop manual, I came across this table for the taillight and brake light:



Under the "LIGHTS" section, I am thinking that I need to connect the AutoTune to either the LH or RH 12 volt input from the ignition switch. It says that would be PIN 2 and the color is "OG". I assume that OG means orange, so would the taillight wire be the orange wire shown in the upper connector in the photo? Can anyone confirm or set me straight on this? Thanks.

The orange is the taillight circuit...use either wire. Black is ground in case you need that, too. I'd suggest using the correct sized Positap if you elect to tap this wire. You are less likely to cause other problems that way, and if you remove the wire liquid electrical tape will seal the insulation without damage to the original wire itself.

When you say "use either wire", do you mean further downstream where the orange wire splits off to each taillight? I was thinking that I would tap right into the wire shown in the picture, or is that not a good place to do it?

I'd suggest using the correct sized Positap if you elect to tap this wire.

Yes, you may tap the orange wire anywhere...either before or after it splits.

As long as it fits snugly and you can get the AutoTune wire through the cap, it should be good. If it is sloppy, it is too big, and if it won't slip over the wire, too small. You should be fine.
