There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Dumb question about highway pegs...

I think this is a dumb question but I am very curious.

when riding sometimes I rest my foot on the water deflector. This is comfortable. I see a number of people have spent quite a bit of money on highway pegs and mounting brackets. Even though they look cool, I am questioning the need to do this. I don't understand. The water deflectors seem pretty sturdy to me....so, could somebody explain what the need is? Thanks.

Yeah . . . I've been using them, too, but try not to do so, very often. Pegs are on the list of things I plan to get, along with a sway bar.

I've seen footrests on the deflectors but can't locate any pics at this time. I'm lerry of resting my foot on them too. They're only held on by one screw and a plastic rivet.

Trust me when I say you will pull the bolt through the fin if you continue to do that. That's why I built the NBV's :doorag:

Highway pegs...!!

the added advantage of being able to adjust most designs to suit your comfort is a good reason to have them. Check them out though Lamonts look like the better design. Does require removing one for oil changes but makes it much sturdier...

Dumb question about highway pegs

I had thought about highway pegs but since I put on an Ultimate seat with Inspector Gadget's floorboards I don't feel the need to stretch out my legs as often. Before those additions I occasionally did put my feet up on the deflectors and the screw head did pull through. I added a metal washer to the screwhead that covered the size of the hole and made the deflector more sturdy. I still use the deflectors occasionally when I get a leg cramp but not for continuous long distance use. This could be an inexpensive alternative while you save for the highway pegs you want.

NBV's For Sale

i am now officially saving up for pegs.
thanks for setting me straight!
I have a complete set of Lamont's RT Highway NBV's for sale. I have both the round chevron pegs and the web pegs (both included). I had them on my RT for about 2 months, not over 200 miles, and just removed them. I have $400 invested, will sell for $200, plus $20 shipping.

Cost

Another good point would be to compare the cost between a good set of pegs against the BRP plastic ware costs every time you break the lower up!

That is one reason I like my Seal boards!

I just ordered top if the line brackets that bolt to the frame. I also just fixed the water deflector screw that I had stupidly broke.

I just got done installing the pegs. EZ Peazy!
Look good too.

only thing different from my previous post is that my order for the brackets that bolt to the engine mounts was cancelled because they stopped making them...so I ordered and installed the NBV brackets...EZ Peazy!
