There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I ordered my 2014 based upon the upgrades and new features that are offered.
So I would have to say that I would NOT have bought a 2013 for the savings...

it would have to be a lot less than 19k for me to think about it! i think the price will get hotter (no pun intended either) when the 2014's start shipping. so, with that being said,

Assuming there were no issues whatsoever with the 2013's, I still would not have bought that year model because:

:ani29:: The 2014 RT with its larger engine, slight restyling, and revised maintainence schedule are the things that make me willing to consider taking the hit on trading the 2010. I can even get the Yellow if I go with RT-S. I was thinking LTD with Silver and Burgandy seat--but, now I don't want to pay the extra $2K or so for chrome parts and a Garmin which I don't use anyway.

Nope. If I was going to buy a new Spyder I'd want the larger engine.

Certainly, if you're looking for an RT the 2014 is the way to go.
But what if you're an RS, RSS or ST kind of person? What reason would you have to get a 2014 other than hoping the 2013 issues are fixed? And if you can get a 2013 for thousands less? Sounds like a big possibility to me.

If I would of known back in March what the 2014's were going to be like, I would of waited to buy a Spyder. But I didn't and I don't regret buying my 2012 RTS. I'm enjoying every mile, so far. The bike has been trouble free with almost 5000 miles on it, plus the wife is now riding with me on my trips that I take. She hardly ever rode with me on my others bikes. I think so enjoys the Spyder just as much as I do.

That was our plan to. We brought our boat home from Dale Hollow lake in Tenn. this year to sell it and bought the Spyder to do some touring when we go camping. However my wife is not thrilled about even getting on it with the gas tank heat issues. I have almost given up hope that BRP will ever come through for us 13 owners. But i'm convinced that the proper answer is to just ride it and see what happens with 5 yeas of warranty!
