A pretty intense discussion for a Monday morning.
One post above brought up the subject that :spyder2: get worked on by the lowest person on the totem pole because most dealers don't like "messing" with them.
I have a slightly different take. I am thinking that a lot of the people working on the :ani29:'s don't have the requisite smarts to do it in the first place. A lot of dealers start their mechanics on oil changes, putting air in tires, etc. and then the mechanics work their way up the ladder. Sending mechanics to approved courses costs a lot of money, and a lot of dealers are not willing to make the investment in people when there is no guarantee that they will be around a month from now.
The :spyder2: has many sophisticated systems to keep it running and it is prone to getting screwed up if the people working on them are not very good. EG. Poorly set up :ani29:'s can be a problem for the new owner.
I have a pretty good dealer, but they went through three service managers and a few mechanics just this season. And yes, I did have an issue or two with the quality of service.
