Has anyone been able to test either of these windshields?

:chat:

Lets get a vote on these products.

Yes C.H.A.D. is available, now
I have been waiting for some time (months) .
On 15th (4 days ago) Industries 7 told me there were delays beyond their control, they still had not come into their warehouse and they would let me know as soon as they had a dispatch date.:dontknow:
Is anyone saying they actually have one or have even seen one ??

They e-mailed me twice, told me they are in as of yesterday.
I asked them to please test the new wind deflector with the 1" riser on the Spyder, to make sure there was no issue while making turns.
Their reply to me was, the C.H.A.D did not hit or rub your hands while making a turn... So we'll have to wait and see when a few of use try the product ourselves, and place some info threads.
Good luck.

They've only been in to Industries 7 one day and you want a windshield comparison write up? :D :joke:
Seriously, I would give it at least a week or so before someone has one and has tested it a bit.

Just received an email from Industries 7- " We are waiting for the order to come in our warehouses….probably end of this week, so yes it will be available soon"
So no they are not available yet, as I said. I would expect several weeks to get any feedback.[FONT=&quot]

Yes Martin you are right, we tested with the demo unit we have at the warehouse, the final windshields are still not fully available, i say ''fully'' because we received certain parts for it, but we are still waiting on some others to finalise the hole deal...sorry guys for the delay, but as you know we tested these thoroughly and adapted certain changes that our focus group pointed out, so that the C.H.A.D experience would be the best one. Again sorry for the delay, but be ashured that all of you that gave us your email to be notified for the C.H.A.D arrival, will be emailed as soon as it's ready to ship...I'm as impatient to get those out there as you guys are to receive them...Have a great Day!!

Sorry no they are not! :(

We are a dealer for Industries 7 and as of 15 minutes ago (1:30 PM 11/23/08) when I called I was told the windshield plastic has come in, but the brackets are not yet ready.

I was told the brackets should be in the end of next week with the windshields starting to ship out then?

I will add that this is the fourth time I have been told over the last 2 months the windshields will be shipping "the end of the following week" so I am not sure if it will really be happening this time or not? :dontknow:

We have many C.H.A.D. units on order and will be able to give a review of these better once units really arrive and we can test one out.

As for the Corbin faring, I had one on my Spyder for about 3 weeks and it did work well. However, it does not allow the use of risers. :(

So, the wind protection it offered for longer rides is of no use if the low bar height makes the Spyder so uncomfortable you don't want to take a long ride. Inasmuch, off it came. Also, the price tag at almost 8 times the others puts it outside many people's budgets. As for looks, some people love it, some hate it?

The Cal-Sci windshield is my personal favorite, and is the unit I have chosen to run on my own personal Spyder, as well as sell here at NMN.

I found it fit quite well right out of the box, is made of DOT approved material (some others are not) It does a good job of keeping the wind pressure off my body and causes no back pressure like others without the vent sometimes do.

I went with the 21 inch unit in a compromise between looks and function.
I know a 23" or 25" would have offered more "total silence" but I wanted to get most of the wind pressure off my torso without running such a big shield.

We have sold many, many of these in all the sizes and have not had any quality problems with these units at all.

Thank you for such an honest review, I and many others would love to here a show down between CHAD and CAL- SCI....make your magic happen.

I installed a CalSci XL yesterday. Went out for a brief ride, and 100 miles today, most at 60-75 mph. Prior I had a BRP Touring screen with a Laminar Lip. I am 6' tall and have STOCK bars, NO riser.

Not only is the ride quieter, minimal buffeting, but the engine now sounds like a turbine. Great improvement. Have 11,000 miles on my Spyder.

What do CalSci owners have to say about the clutch lever interference? Some say not an issue, others have rejected the CalSci for that reason.

I guess if you were to ride around doing right hand donuts in a parking lot all day it might bother you? :dontknow:

But the tiny bit it hits on only full lock right turns is not an issue near as much as the gail force wind the stock shield shoves in your face all the time is.

TeeHee... that is funny... like the comparison... super reply.:yes::coffee:

I have the Corbin fairing, Kewlmetal risers and replacement center console and non-stock bars. No problem at all with risers, so I don't know what the problem is. :hun: I get no buffeting and the ride is smooth. In fact, a little less air than I am used to. Expensive and looks interesting, but there is no interference with either risers, bars, or anything else in the ****pit.

Yes you can clear the Corbin with the Kewl metal kit and the bars rolled back real low. Then you can make it clear in full turns.

But I like most other PE owners disn't want to remove the upper dash and loose the PE plates. Also, what style looks good is a personal thing. I like the look if the stock console and did not want to loose it in make the rise happen.

I am loosing faith with Industries 7. They are just as bad as Marcel. They don't like to return phone calls and don't deliver on their promise. I have been told 5 times that they will be shipping next week.

I really wish these companies would step up their customer service and stop lying to their prospective customers.

Seems like that windshield has been taking a long time to come out. When Shawn was still with Thibault / Industries 7, it seemed like CHAD was close to being complete. I wonder what happened to it after he was no longer with the company? :dontknow: I was anxious to try it about three months ago but, since then, I've gotten Marcel's slide screen and I'm happy with it. No more windshields for me unless this one breaks.
