• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New owner....Possibly

Was at my dealer today and a couple were looking at the Lava Bronze RTS Limited. A salesman came over, knowing I was an owner and asked if I would talk to them. The usual questions: How does it handle, gas mileage, comfort, issues, etc. They are coming from a Harley dresser.
Lets just say I think they made a purchase after talking to me for almost an hour. Passed on the Spyderlovers website to them too, so be on the lookout for a new member from Clearwater. :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

Great work but didn't you just say a few days ago you were done with Spyders? I hope you've since changed your mind, we need ambassadors like you.

Way to go since you have had some problems with yours of late. I hope you dealer took notice and acts accordingly to do what it takes to get your :spyder2: fixed to your satisfaction.

I still have no negative feelings toward them when they run properly. Didnt want my problems that I have with mine to influence a possible new owner. All questions were answered honestly and they were happy to hear about long trips we have done without issues. Maybe mine is due to it being such an early release model. :dontknow::dontknow:

Thanks, just doing what I normally do. I think I have been in on at least 10 sales of spyders at my dealer. Its fun to see the new owners trying to figure out all of the doo-dads and stuff when they get thier new ride.

Dave,
Thanks... :2thumbs: :firstplace:
We know that you've got an ongoing issue woth yours. Spreading the information to others is what we as owners can do to help grow our sport!

Bob, I feel that with more Spyders on the road, issues will surface quicker and corrections can be made to them in a timely manner. The spyders have been out since 2008 so many changes have taken place and with the release of the 2013's, many more to come. Strength in numbers. LOL

Dave,
I would have thought that you'd be talking to "You know who" about "Those that may not be named" due your relative proximities... ;)

So, what is the latest on your Spyder?

Ron, got a late start getting her in the shop, but she is there right now. They are supposed to call BRP today and ask what to do with it. The battery drained down to 9.1 volts by this morning. My tech is lost, other than replacing every wire and electrical component on the spyder. Many draw tests done, parts replaced, etc. And I really thought they had it the last time. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Nothing can more frustrating than electrical issues... :gaah: Well here's hoping that they find and fix it this time!

I remember a post from Sept. 2011 concerning your frustration with the battery draining when the spyder was not in use. Wow, a year has passed and no progress? Good luck.

Yep, been well over a year dealing with this stuff.

I haven't posted much and have appreciated the pms and other info that I have received from some, most helpful, unfortunately many rude as well. But I must say that as a collective Spyder owners have to be the most patient, easy going people I have ever seen.

In my old business I would of loved to have you as my customers. Personally I couldn't handle the seemingly common issues many of you have had with an expensive piece of equipment. My hat is off to you for that. I couldn't do it.

May the road treat you kind and your dealers treat you better.
