RT Exhaust

Does anyone know of a good exhaust that I can put on my RT that wound not require a juice box or tuning of the engine? Just dont want to do anything to affect my warranty. I just dont know how long I am going to be able to hear the stock exhaust. Sounds just like a quad.

Been working with 2bros on a new design made to have a deeper lower sound, clear the trailer hitch with plenty of room and now extends past the saddle bag by a few inches to take the sound and exhaust fuems away from the passenger.
So far Ann it's seems like your liking the upgrade...... O and liking have rear brakes again ;-)

Excuse My Delusion of Adequacy, but ...

I would really like to see Two Brothers, or another after-market produce a better performing muffler for the Spyder RT that has a similar form factor as the original, but is lighter and and provides a bit better performance. My observations with after-market products to date are two-fold:

1. After-market exhausts are smaller form factor than the original, resulting in this 'gutted' look underneath the right-side hard case. Everybody knows the Spyder under the skirt is not attractive ... cables, wires ... blecch! The stock muffler covers that quite nicely. Aftermarkets, however (while the mufflers themselves are cool-lookng), leave it all exposed.

2. I like a fairly quiet ride; most of the exhaust mods I see out there make the Spyder much louder; however, the 998 ROTAX 'amplified,' just doesn't look like it matches the size and grunt of the RT. I think we should be going the route of what a BMW sounds like, vs. a bagger, cruiser or sport bike.

Someone needs to design something that has the 'shell' appearance of the stock exhaust, but disguises higher performance internals and less weight. Plus, some chrome or brushed aluminum and anodized surfaces, as appropriate.

Justin, while you were at SITR I went to Santa Ana and got a Two Brothers Racing Exhaust installed. Len @ Cowtown had posted that they needed an RT with a trailer hitch to make a prototype for. It sounds awesome, is a lot lighter and my gas mileage has improved.

Len, I can't imagine how screwed I'd have been if you hadn't fixed my brakes.

Can you post some pics of the new exhaust pipe on the bike. And some sound bits . Thks ride safe this week end all.

So did you get the new exhaust , on yet? If can you send pics for all of us. Thanks...

on the rt the cat is separate from the muffler(silencer), any good muffler shop can make any glass pac or magnaflow or flowmaster muffler work without any air-fuel tuner necessary. a 45 degree flared pipe just like the stock muffler welded on the new muffler and a custom bracket welded to the muffler to bolt it to the frame. do not be scared, less than $200 if they treat you fair, for all stainless system. ask some of the kids that have those tuner cars or the 4x4 thunder trucks where to get the best work done.

two bros

I have two bros on my rt. I like the way it sounds seems to have more powwer off a stop and seems to help mileage.. no juice box at all

Ann,
curious how many miles you had on your brakes, was it rear pads?

i put a k+n air filter on our rts se5...then put a spyder1attitude exhaust on it and never had to change a thing...how ever the time span between installing both was about a week..i put the air filter on first and had a some issues with air flow,,but when i put the exhaust on it cure them without having me to change anything else on the bike...it sounds great and it is so smalla and discreet that it can hardly be seen...the only prob i had was the pop rivets used to hold the tips on were stainless with aluminun tips , they had to be changed to all stainless steel...the tips will fall off if this is not done...they have an awesome sound and help my performance greatly...and when i ride with the friens i have that have harleys i can acually here our bike..which was a big problem before the switch...if you go on you tube you can listen to can ams with allmost any kind of exhaust on them...good luck

... then we can pipe sound bites from a BMW K-1600 through our audio system. :2thumbs::yes:

I have this same Two Brothers slip on exhaust. Gives a throatier sound.......BUT when the exhaust slipped off it's connection to the bike one day it sounded like a HD on steroids.........scared the beejeebers out of me, and was quite deafening too boot!

2Bro's

Ok. So I finally placed my order. I am getting the Two Brothers M5. Could not pass up the price of $480. From what I have gathered it is a the sound of what I am looking for. I just hate it that my :spyder2: sounds like a quad.

Personally, I hate the TBR pipes on the Spyder - Way too loud. I have the Yosh R77 and cat delete. Nice growl, louder behind the bike, quite cockpit, and meets the Oregon sound law. Perfect for me, and highly recommended.

Pics & before/after sound under RT Tech/New Project update.

Have you ever heard the Two Bros on the RT? They aren't loud at all. On the RS they are really loud but they really give the RT a nice sound.
