• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Weight Capacity Question

Towing Mode

I've been meaning to ask this question: is there a difference between towing a trailer and operating the Spyder with weight restriction exceeded? On the RT SE5 we have the Trailer Mode. Is it proper to use this mode when not towing a trailer? Any risk to the bike? Can using the trailer mode with the weight restriction exceeded be a good suggestion, especially on steep runs like we had in Durango?

My understanding is that towing mode adjusts the brake balance, not just weight. It seems to me that setting the shocks to a higher level would be better than using the towing mode without a trailer. I would think that using the towing mode without a trailer could make braking a bit strange in a rapid stop.

I drive with Trailer mode on quite often. I like the way it changes the down shift rpm's. I have never had a problem.

I started using TM without the trailer while in Durango. I really liked the torque it gave me, especially while going down the steep grades. Look ma, no brakes!

But then my clutch hub broke while going uphill while leaving Durango and I often wondered if it was my fault. But I don't see how. I REALLY like that TM feature though the more I use it. Reminds me of the split shift on the old Reos. Ina way, you can brag how you got 10 forward gears on the Spyder.

Testing

what the heck is going on here? am I going crazy? are those diving weights on the passenger's belt? is that rear seat scraping on the tire? and are they doing this on purpose? what is the deal
