There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I've got some advanced (for me!:opps:) farkling that needs to be done and I'm so initimidated that I just can't get myself to pick up a hammer...

If you keep puttin' yourself down like this, Bob, folks are bound to assume that wonderful bird logo on your trike is a chicken. The remedy is is your own hands, like Cp'n Kirk you just gotta boldly GO, man! You CAN do it, just pick up that farklin' hammer and get farklin' away! :roflblack:

kevin, if you ever want to ride to ft-worth tx i'd be glad to put you up at my place and feed you true texas bbq, steaks then you can help me do this type of installs for lighting on my rts not to mech inclined to do what you just did. but i do need lighting trying to trick out my bike for bike shows i have entered 1 show already and won so now i'm looking fwd to more.

You've won a lighting contest, so you're already up on me by one. I asked around the forum and then just went at it. When I do an article I'm trying to do it from my newbie point of view. The frunk isn't hard to remove. Look around at the vendors. There are several to choose from. I just took the extra step of routing the bump skid to recess and protect the led strips. I got that idea from Stevemac and I think he got it from Reggy at TricLED. Good luck. Contact me if I can help.
Love Texas BBQ!!!

not a lighting contest was a car/motorcycle show. after the great mind of power sports wrap "pete" designed my wrap for my bike i entered it in the show and won. so now since i won 1 i want more plaques, trophies. havent done anything for lighting yet but i seriously want some done so at night i look just as good as i do during daylight..lol

If you're just starting out I would highly recommend these for a start. The front and rear bright sides, led for mud flap, fender tips kit ( which allows your new lights to act in conjunction with your turn signals ) and the fenderz lights. I have the amber to red on mine. They are available from TricLED. They are a sponsor here and the instructions are simple. If you need assistance Reggy is always around to help you out. Just those items will light you up and make you more visible both day and night.

Look me up while in Cuba. I'm just down I20 in Tyler. Pop over here some time, we'll do BBQ, and then talk lights.... in that order :)

hey Kev its starting to come along and yes soldering can be a buggar, I apply heat to the bottom of the wires and add the metal to the top this helps pull the metal down into the wire connection...this works for me so this is how I do it, I had to solder a lot of LED lighting for my home reno this winter. I cant wait to see this bike lit up, oh and are you going to the owners event I cant make it to Spyderfest its still snowing here:banghead::banghead::banghead: so hope to see you and your Spyder.

Spyderrock, so sorry to say that I can't make Durango this year. One of my 5 boys is getting married that week. One graduates HS and leaves for the Marines August 27th. The one getting married graduates from Illinois College and is then getting married the last week of June.

I'm experimenting with soldering techniques. I can sweat copper pipes like a pro, but this micro, dinky crap is testing my patience. I need a better iron. I got a real cheapy from Radio Shack and the tips burn out real quick. I'm buying a much better one before I start on the rest of the lights.

Gotta crash now, we have a trip to Cuba to make in the morning to finish some prep work for Spyderfest. Take care, Bro

Wow Kev your going to be busy this summer. I use a weller to solder my connections get the best one you can afford and they do work great. Oh by the way im going to be in MO at Cowtown should be arriving there about June 14th mid afternoon. Im getting some work done and then going to hang around for the weekend then head out with the group from there to the owners event. You have given me some inspiration to light up my Spyder so yesterday I made a lighting diagram of what im going to be doing just need to do some measurements for lights and make an order. I wont install it until next winter because I will have to do like you and remove a lot of the panels...take care and cant wait to see this lit up:yes::yes:

Remind me about the June 14th date at SpyderFest. I'll put the date in my phone and if possible a couple of us might pop in.

Just changing the oil and filters is enough challenge for me. Any thing more then that someone else is going to do. not me.

You're a step ahead of me Grandpa. I drive to Len's place in Cuba, MO. for my oil changes. Maybe after my warranty is over I'll start doing that myself. Hope you're going to be at SF this year.

Kevo did you forget about us:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:, im sure your busy as hell trying to get the Spyder ready for Spyderfest buuuuuuuuuuuuuut, I need to see this thing lit up come on man your killing us with the waiting lol

Sorry my friend, I didn't forget, but I've been busy trying to finish the bike in time for SpyderFest and had a death in the family. Just getting our portion of SpyderFest ready combined with everything else has just wiped all of my pic time out.

I won't have anything up before we leave for Cowtown tomorrow. Once back, I'll pick up where I left off and hopefully put up some stuff that will be helpful for anyone interested.
