• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Every year for 20 years I have walked in the MS Walk (even before I was diagnosed) usually 12 miles and then people sponsor me.

This year will be the first year that I am physically unable to walk due to the muscle spasms and the damage it would do to my legs. So I was talking with MS Society and I suggested that maybe they organize something like the MS Bike ride, but with Motorcycles. So my question to my fellow Spyder riders, if they had an event like this, would you ride to help raise money for MS?

I just sponsored a friend of mine that has a husband with MS on a walk to the top of the Rock in NYC, so your idea is doable for sure.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I don't know if the MS Society is going to run with it, but I think it is a great idea.

My wife has MS and we do the walk every year also. I am also working on a potential MS Ride for next year. The MS Society has a new page where you can organize your own fundraising event (at least here in the Chicago chapter). Here's the link:

If anyone is interested in sponsoring me in our walk this May 6th here's my link:

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

Food for thought

Please do not consider this a hijack. I mean it as an idea for fund raising. I has been very successful In the motorcycling community. We do a charity ride from Chicago Navy Pier to santa Monica ca. Via route 66. Last year it drew about 80 plus riders and 55 who went all the way. We have riders for all over the US and a few from Europe.

The ride took 12 days to Santa Monica and it raised 35000 dollars. This happens to be a cancer ride but the concept could be adapter and in fact a couple of trike riders have neurological based syndromes .

For an over view of what we do and the concept, take a look at

My husband and I will be happy to sponsor you, I guess it is the best i can do right now, short of getting into one of those chairs on wheels and well thats not going happen. Afraid if I get in one, I won't get back out.

For an idea of how to do a ride, look up Ride For Kids. It's a Fundraiser done in several cities around the country for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Look them up for insperation and ideas of what to do and how to do it.
