OIL PRESSURE READINGS

[Nor-Cal Spyder]

I just put a digital oil gauge on my 2011 RT SE and am wondering what kind of oil pressure readings some of you are getting when the engine is up to normal operating temperatures both at idle and going down the roar.

Oil Pressure

Getting 75 PSI at start after riding and getting the temperature increase it will be at 50 PSI. When at ambient temperature and sitting at a red light have seen the oil pressure between 25-30 PSI. Hope this helps.

I can tell you what my Harley Reads, 60 psi cold at start, warm/hot 32 psi, Idle 12 psi, Accelerating 50/60 psi.
I would think unless you compare yours to another Spyder with the same gauge and hookup points it will be apples to oranges with the comparison. :dontknow:

Mine is 60-61 psi at anything over 3000 rpm, oil is 5w-40.

Warmed up & approximate:

Idle high 20s

4,000 to 6,000 RPM low 50s to low 60s +

Above 6,000, I'm too scared to look at it.

I installed an analog pressure gage and I get around 50psi at low rpm up to about 75psi at high rpm. During regular cruise I get about 60-65psi.

Today I rode about 250 miles and a couple of observations. At 70 mph in 5th gear the oil pressure was between 70 - 75 PSI. Also, got caught in road construction and sat at idle for about 5 minutes and the oil pressure went to 25 PSI.

BRP Specs on oil pressure on Spyder are:

Idle...1400rpm....10 to 44psi
Cruise 5000rpm...51 to 80psi
