• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for some sidecar lessons I found this page:

Wow! That looks really safe!!! :yikes: On the other hand, try this on a standard trike! :yikes::yikes::yikes:

I've been there done that at low speeds. Methinks the nanny doesn't get freaked out at low speeds? Has happened to me coming out of parking lots with a steep grade to the street and also at stop lights when I have gunned it a bit too much when making a slow turn. No biggie. Just drop the wheel and move on!

I am serious. Isn't there a blur on the spokes when the wheels are moving? Otherwise--they are using a very good camera.

I staged one of the pictures in my album going down a road in the fall. Since there were no cars for miles--we got away with it. My back tire is not moving and you can see the tread pattern nicely.

The link has the same guy on the same Spyder from different angles as the pic BajaRon posted. Looks legit to me.

As someone else said, he's not moving very fast and it doesn't take that good a camera these days to stop motion. Especially when the wheel is turning at a slow speed.

The fact that his wheels are straight simply means he's as far up as he wants to be and he's turning away from the high wheel to come back down.

It's not a staged picture other than he's doing it on purpose, of course. Though I admit, the stop action shutter speed does give it a fake aspect.

I can accept that explanation. It just looked like nothing was moving in the picture. You got to admit it would have been a great balancing act if staged.

For real?

When I took my safety/trike course, my right front wheel barley got off the ground ( less than 2 inches), and immediately, VSS kick in and cut the power. This happened going into the controlled swerve portion of the course. This picture, I agree doesn't look real!

I did three sessions at a track day with my machine. I was just as animated as the 2 wheelers, but it's to provide inside ballast and not so top heavy. Catamaran action or sidecar racing for one. I found myself on 2 wheels through many a turn, not sure they will allow me back.

It's all in the way it's done. You can do this with or without the Nanny depending on your technique. Obviously, this guy has practiced it a bit. I've had my inside wheel up pretty high going slow and at higher speeds without the Nanny getting involved. Not always on purpose though, like this guy.

His foot looks like it's on the brake and the wheel is off the ground. The front wheel is not moving, the brake is engaged. Without momentum the wheel will just lockup with the brake on. :2thumbs:

The rear wheel is a little fuzzy proving this is real. What do you think of my theory ??? :dontknow:

Try doing a slalom as fast as you can... not only is this a lot more fun than it looks, but you keep getting better each time you go around. You'll will definitely lift on each transition. Take some water bottles out to a parking lot and try it sometime. It's not really dangerous and you get to know your ride better.

Anyhow, I noticed he has something on his windshield...

I wonder how well this stuff works to tweak buffeting...

Fast shutter speed will capture the wheel rotation. Look at the background - motion blurr as the camera is following the rider. I've captured droplets of splashed water with a modest Minolta or Canon camera.
