There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
Is this KickzSoleShine guy a scammer? Anyone dealt with him?

The world has been full of scammers and crooks since it became the world. They are just a little more high tech now, but no less crooked.
Plenty of scammers and tricksters in ancient literature, Trojan Horse maybe? Ever heard the term, "Snake Oil Salesman"? How about "Rainmaker"?

If you want to read Santayana for free, it is on the web. This is not a scam, but I warn you before you start, it is long, complicated and very involved with past writers and ancient history..

If it's on Facebook Marketplace it's probably a scam, but that's just my personal opinion.
Also, if anyone asks you to use PayPal Friends and Family it is - definitely - a scam.
Regular PayPal is pretty good for protecting both buyers and sellers, but the 'Friends and Family' version is specifically designed to send money to someone you know, and is not intended for buying something from someone you don't know. It has none of the protections that regular PayPal has.

The first time a person told me to pay through PayPal Friends and Family, which I didn't know about, I just used regular PayPal.
He rejected the payment and told me to use PayPal Friends and Family. Having never heard of it, I did some research, and then told him I would not be using Friends and Family and walked away.
Sounds like you avoided being ripped off.
I recently saw this series of texts from one of our local 'cheapie car sales' sites:
His stupid low ball offer after asking for the sellers' lowest price earned him a 30 minute drive to the Comedy Club! 
I'd bet that he didn't go in and get up on the stage, tho! 
Prospective Buyer (PB): What's the lowest you'll take?
Seller (S): $900 Cash in hand.
PB: How about $250?
S: I said ...
S: OK, sure.
PB: Bewdy! How do we do this then?
S: Can you get to 237 Somelocal Street, NextSuburbOver this arvo?
PB: Sure, I can be there in about 30 Minutes.
S: OK, do that then.
28 minutes pass...
PB: I'm here.
S: Great! Go on inside.
PB: What? Into the Comedy Club?
S: Yeah.
S: Then go straight up on the stage and tell your jokes there!
Blocked PB & reported him to sales site as potential scammer.

Buying online can be rewarding, but you have to exercise caution.
First, even if you arrange the sale online, make the actual purchase in person if possible, and do that in a safe place.
Second, if you are doing everything online, use a marketplace that is somewhat trustworthy. I'm on a couple of BMW-oriented forums that have marketplaces, and I've had very good experiences buying and selling there. The moderators do a decent (but not perfect!) job of keeping the riff-raff away. I've also made a purchase using the Spyderlovers marketplace and that went well.
Third, when using a forum marketplace, see if the seller is an active member (good) or has just joined in the past week or so and has made very few posts (red flag!) Try to learn from the forum posts as much as you can about the seller. This is not stalking; this is protecting yourself.
Fourth, speak with the seller by phone if you can and learn as much as you can about their character and motivation. Probing or accusatory questions won't get you anywhere, but a pleasant conversation between fellow enthusiasts can reveal a lot. I learned this when I was considering paying a guy in California almost $1000 for a pair of used Ohlins shocks for my Beemer. He was the one who suggested the phone call to put my mind at ease. That purchase turned out very well.
Fifth, NEVER use your credit card (or worse, your debit card!!!) to buy anything. Use PayPal and DON'T use the friends and family option. PayPal's protection is not perfect, but it is much better than nothing.
I have purchased much of my riding gear and some major motorcycle upgrades online and gotten some very high quality stuff for very very low prices.

Once you make the initial contact, go to the phone. As a buyer, if the seller's not willing to talk to you on the phone, that's a red flag. You can learn so much more with a phone call conversation. It's also a lot easier to negotiate. As a seller, you can tell if they're serious or just a tire kicker based on the questions they ask.

Right on, Raccoon. Agree 100% with what you said. Only minor change I would make is even though almost all FB sellers (especially of Can-Am parts) are indeed fake/scammers looking to make quick unethical buck, do a bit of digging into their profile - look at their friends; where are they from; do they have other normal (not for sale) posts on their FB feed - maybe pics of events they went to or family or friends they've been with; search their friend list and see if THEY are typical FB users that post stuff about their lives/friends/family; do same research about their "friends" info; look at their "About" info; see how long they have had their FB account. Doing those things will help you determine how fake or real they are.

Interestingly enough, I have come across more than one named out of Africa.
