• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. If you have not seen the new catalog for the RT's yet I saw a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the harness for bluetooth phones to be used with the helmet communication system. It is about 100.00 dollars and will be available for 2011 and 2012 models.

The "Cellphone Interface Kit" is $1939.97 and you need the audio package, the cb package, intercom and entertainment harness, and the GPS to make it work.
I am assuming it works through the GPS's bluetooth to connect to the intercom system.

If that is the correct price, I do not predict very robust sales:D

That package requires the audio system and communications headsets. It includes the CB/intercom, entertainment harness, and GPS.

All I can tell you that I saw the new catalog at my dealer and the adapter price was less than 100.00 dollars. Yes you will need the communication system with as they said the ST1 helmets with audio communication with headset and mic. A picture of it showed a small setup with two plugs. Could be a bluetooth module. I heard about the $1039. price but this was not that. We will see. Ask Lamont if he has seen the new 2012 catalog yet. The unit will not be made available till Nov. Also their is a new seat available that sets the driverback 2 in. for the RT. Just what I want. Not sure of the cost of the seat. Bob

Scotty,
Do you have any other info. I can hear the phone on my 2011 Limited, I just cannot talk because the GPS apparently uses its mic.

I have no additional information. The $1,900 package is listed and briefly described in the BRP showroom on their Website.

I've got all of that already as the OEM package. I'd be OK if I need to replace the entertainment harness.
I don't need the full integration. I don't need to make phone calls from the LED or left cluster button. I just need a means to connect the mic in my headset to the mic input of the GPS and then I'm off to the bluetooth races.

Probably programming, but it could also be a difference in wiring or components.

Scotty do you, or Lamont, know if there a major change in the communication wiring harness between the 2010s & 2011s and on??? If so, think BRP will offer a wiring harness interface for the 2010 RT models? Sure would be nice to use the phone as advertised! nojoke

:dontknow: I'm certain that there must be a change in either the wiring or programming, particularly the cluster programming or the audio system programming, but I can't verify that. I would highly doubt that this capability would be made available to the 2010 model. Whether it would be possible with a more extensive change of components, to make them compatible, I can't say.

I'm hoping it's a cluster programming change as you sggested. I've already got the 2011 cluster as part of the "Fix the PTT/Lose Your Mileage" campaign.

Now that's an idea. I'm a member of that campaign too, although I expect to be reinitiated since my tach sometimes shows an incorrect reading since having the 2011 cluster installed.

Upon further reading, you are correct..that price of 1900.00 does include the CB package, the Entertainment harness, and the GPS.
