• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 RT Bluetooth adapter

I have a 2010 RTS with the CB, XM, Entertainment Harness, Wired intercom & GPS.... and with the 2011 cluster (which did indeed fix my "sticky" PTT CB Transmitter)... I was hoping the new 2011 cluster would enable the Bluetooth adapter to work with my wired intercom, and it sorta did:

It DOES work, if and only if:

I'm parked with the ignition on, and the engine off...

Once I start the engine, there is a bunch of "static", but I think it's really more like digital drop-out... kind of like there just isn't enough bandwith capability on the Electrical System's CAN BUS (or whatever) to manage the voice traffic along with the running engine and other vehicle systems.

I can, at least, make calls without having to take off my helmet, I just have to pull over, hit the kill switch, and I can place or receive calls....

All the best,

Bill

Bill,

stedefive had a similar problem with his speakers.
He and I also had the same static issue when making calls with the engine running.
In both instances, the fix was additional grounding.

Have your dealer call Giovanni from BRP and you can most likely have it fixed.

Keep us posted so we know how you make out.

Thanks ThreeWheels for the pm and heads up. Will do some experimenting on my own and talk with dealer. Since I'm outta warranty period and am using a product not intended for a 2010, I wanna see what I co myself rather than at a $100 / hr labor charge.

Do you know what specifically they're recommending adding ground straps to?

Thanks,

Bill

The additional strap goes from the ground connection on the CB antenna directly to the chassis.
See if that works for you. Keep us posted.

In addition to the new CB antenna and ground strap, I replaced the AM/FM antenna and ground strap to get rid of the static.

I installed the CB and know its grounded. Will check it to see if any corrosion has developed limiting its effectiveness. Haven't looked at AM/FM antenna..... Will have to check that too.

Will let you know what I find.

Thanks guys,

Bill

Now it doesn't work anymore...............................

Crap. Now it doesn't work.

It's not BRP that's at fault.

I just had an update pushed through on my phone to Android 4.04.
Now the Bluetooth doesn't work between my Zumo and my phone.
Garmin hadn't caught up with the last version of Android. Bluetooth worked, but it was limited.
I didn't get my phone book to synch to the Zumo.

This explains why the new Zumo doesn't have bluetooth.
It would seem Garmin is dropping this feature.
So, unless BRP comes up with a way to hardwire a phone into the the system the way StarCom does, I don't think there is much future for this feature.
Disappointing, to say the least.

Maybe I'll try an iPhone.
