• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 RT Bluetooth adapter

I'm hoping it's a cluster programming change as you sggested. I've already got the 2011 cluster as part of the "Fix the PTT/Lose Your Mileage" campaign.

Cluster changes this year were minor except night screen colors. Bluetooth was done independently of cluster.

Has anyone installed this on an '11? Not having a mic for the phone integration kinna surprised me when I got my :ani29:, so looking to get this if it works well.

It connects to the lower cable of the back of the CB radio.

And after you install it, will you be able to use the intercom headset mic to talk on the phone? Since you have to install it to the back of the CB, I assume you would have to remove the back of the bike to get to the CB? I am trying to decide whether I want to put this on my '11 RT or not. Seems like a good thing to add if it works.

Yes, you use your wired mic and yes, you have to remove the left side panels and loosen the cargo bag. It plugs in between the lower CB harness and into the GPS harness mic-in plug.

Thanks so much for the answers. This may be my first mod for me to do. I will have to get the maintenance manual and look it over good before I go to ripping the tupperware off though. As Scotty and others have pointed out, don't get in over your head, but ask tons of questions.

Thanks again!

YAY!!!

Oh Honey.... guess what I read on Spyderlovers today.... :roflblack:

I see a mod in my hubbies future. Although he did say the next thing done I would be doing it since he never gets to ryde it.

Hope this works as easy and cheap as it sounds I sure could use the bluetooth!

My buddy and I got his installed and back together in about 1 1/2 hours. Instructions are straight forward but read it carefully. The pictures are of the left side and the instructions tell you to install on the right side.

Stevedfive, may I ask how and where the bluetooth adapter was purchased. I did not know that they were available as of yet. Thanks, Bob

No, according to the dealer, the 2010 does not have the updated 2011-12 equipment. If you installed whatever equipment was updated, it would.

That takes dedication and a smooth road
cheers
:bowdown::clap:

Stevedfive I just received my adapter and you are right. The pictures are of the left side but instructions are for the right side. What happened with that?. Anyway, I see that you have to get back into the mounts for the saddle bags and not sure if you have to take the tour box off. Maybe you can help. Thanks, Bob :sour:

MPH light and RPM light

I have a 11 RT, I thought the RPM light was burned out, but on this pic, they must not of put it in? Anybody know?
Just wondering

Now that's an idea. I'm a member of that campaign too, although I expect to be reinitiated since my tach sometimes shows an incorrect reading since having the 2011 cluster installed.

No, you do not have to take the bag off. You just loosen the lower bolt over the muffler and the one on the other side, but you can reach it from underneath. I will PM you may number so you call if you would like. It can get tricky because it can change the seat alignment.

There is no RPM LED. Which kinda makes sense because, well it's the tach so it HAS to be RPM. On the speedo side it could be KPH or MPH hence the LED indication.
