This was the only shot we got of a close encounter of a buffalo. He could care less that we were checking him out. It's cool to see these guys in the wild.

One of you guys should have snuck up and given the buffalo a yank on his tail,
Then you could have got a nice head shot of the buffalo.:roflblack:

Funny we were doing the "Wild Hogs" chant the whole way and Len talked about "smacking the bull". I said it was not a good idea and I didn't want to tell his wife and kids how he was killed. :lecturef_smilie:

Great shots and good advice. You can also get up close and personal with Moose here. Not advisable--they can kill you with one swipe of a leg.

For a real treat, try to catch the annual buffalo round-up, held the last Monday of Sept. each year, this year being on Sept. 26th. It is really a sight to behold. This is where they are all brought in from Custer State Park and sorted, tested, vaccinated and branded.
Also that week-end is a large Arts Festival and Chili cook-off.

I was in Yellowstone park a few weeks ago on my spyder and literally turned a corner to find a buffalo within arms length of me. People don't realize just how massive they are.
