Took my Spyder to the shop last week, couldn't make an appointment, was told to drop it off and they would work it in. Not really a problem, took it in Tuesday, heard nothing so called Thursday afternoon, was told the would get on it this evening. Friday morning they called and said my rear tire was showing wear, whatever, and I told them to replace it, 4 hours labor, oh well.
I have an RT-s and the seat is pulling away form the padding, I'd seen it reported here and remember BRP taking care of it, so I asked the service writer to look at it, the first thing out of his mouth was will they say it was caused by the sun. I told him I knew it was a reported problem and there should be something on it, well another guy finally got a camera, took a couple of pictures and said I'll call BRPP and let you know. We'll see.
Rode it home Friday, about 30 miles. Went on a ryde Saturday, over 100 miles, then rode it again today, total about 210 miles. Checked the oil and it is way over full when hot, close to right on when cold. Looks to me like someone filled it when it was cold. I don't like it.
Also, one of the gromets holding the oil check panel came up missing. I can't put my finger on when but I never found it in the garage so I assume, and I know what that does, it got lost the last time the oil was changed. They wrote it up to be replacded, said BRP knew it was a problem. Guess what? No grommet. I have lost considerable confidence in this service dept. I usually drive by it to get to the dealer that sold me the RT but it was just to big a PITA this time. Man am I sorryl.
Bottom line, how worried should I be about the excess oil? The cover ain't fallen off in over 3000 miles so it should be good to go, it's just the idea.
