There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Numb fingers: Risers?

... Those riser kits that those companys sell, are so ugly and make the Spyder look like poo poo. You have to cut the handlebar then come up and then go out. IMO it's a stupid look !!!

I know what you are going to say, comfort over looks. I already learned that when I spoke bad about your high windshields. :roflblack::roflblack:

Its no worse than having black front rims and a gray rear rim or a silver rear rack and passenger backrest on a yellow Spyder. :D

:lecturef_smilie:Old Pic !!!!!!!!!Backrest and Sportrack is now yellow, and the rest of the silver including back rim will be finished powder coated black this winter when I can't ride. But thanks for pointing something out that I'm already on top of. :2thumbs:

Numbness I have experienced, but not on my Spyder. I would love to raise my handlebars up 2"- 3". But I want to raise the whole handle bars. The ESI risers look like they are stock...match the bike perfectly...you're not referring to these, are you? IMHO, the kewlmetal look out of place...don't match the lines of the bike...

I do not like either of them. I checked out the Heli riser and that one is my favorite because you keep the bars intact. I'm not sure why the ignition has to be moved though, but I will check into that. The price is a little high for the Heli, but what isn't for the Spyder ?

Don't get hooked on the 'don't cut the handlebar' idea. The ESI risers really look like they're stock. They match quite well.

The Heli riser looks more out of place than the ESI, whether you were to cut the bars or not.

You have three options and most people are happy with the one they go with (I guess if not, they'd pick another)...go with what you like...it's your bike...all that matters is your comfort on the bike...

When I was at the dealer I had a chance to talk to the Can-Am Regional Sales Mgr. He was pretty negative on using anything except the BRP riser. I got the impression Can-Am would look very hard at a Spyder with risers before agreeing to any warranty work on the electrical system.

I have the 1" riser from Can-Am and it is completely inadequate. Has anyone experienced any issues with warranty work when they brought in their Spyder with after market risers?

Nancy has both the BRP 1" and the ESI 3". No warranty issues on any repairs. Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, a manufacturer cannot void your warranty unless it can be shown that the modification or accessory caused or contributed to the failure. Your BRP rep was blowing smoke.

I put the 3" riser block on mine and it worked great for me and, to the uneducated eye, isn't noticable at all. I am 6'-2".

Now, though, my wife has "taken" possession of "her" Spyder and prefers the Helibar. That is my project for next weekend.

Warranty "issues" can be the fault of your dealer. If they are looking for ways not to repair something under warranty, they'll find a way to make it the repair be "caused by aftermarket parts". A good dealer will work for you to get repairs covered by warranty (even if the cause was questionable).

+1. Great points and very true!

I've installed both the ESI and Kwelmetal riser and had to lengthen the clutch wire on one.I love the Kewlmetal one's because they give you a lot more adjustments.

True, but it doesn't match the lines of the bike as well. The KM looks aftermarket, the ESI looks native to the bike...
