I have the drift and I'm very happy with it. The remote control is a great feature. It tended to eat batteries last year, so this year I powered it from the bike via the USB charge cable.
This is just another test video. Today I'm going to get a pole and mount it on the tongue of my trailer about 8 to 10 feet up and see what kind of shot I can get with that. Should be pretty cool. :2thumbs:

What batteries did you eat? Do you have the AA version?I have the drift and I'm very happy with it. The remote control is a great feature. It tended to eat batteries last year, so this year I powered it from the bike via the USB charge cable.

OK, now you post this Lamont! I'd been wanting the GoPro since Daytona when I saw yours ... finally got around to ordering one and it arrived yesterday! :roflblack: Perfect timing on my part as always! Don
I did the video on the paint pole but it shook too much. :gaah:
This one is just mounted on the trailer with the suction cup. The remote worked well and I like that I can turn the mic down so the wind noise is not that bad. I still need to play with that feature. So far I really like it. :doorag:
That was 720p 30fps. What's really strange is with the GoPro my fender lights blink even at 60fps but on the lowest setting of the Drift I'm not getting the blinking and that's a good thing. :thumbup:What resolution were you using?
Just got my Drift HD170 and this is the first video. As you can see the lighting was bad and I couldn't get it to turn off right away with the remote. I'll have to play with that a bitpps:

I haven't looked to close at that yet but I would say you do have to leave the mount on your helmet, same as the GoPro.Thinking of getting one too!
I saw it comes with a helmet mount, but do I need to stick the mount to my helmet using like 3M adhesive or something? Does that mean the mount will be there permanently even when I don't mount the camera to it?
No, that's still hit and miss at this point. I'm going to call the company and see what they say.Did you ever figure out why it wasn't shutting off ???

I'm well within range and it turns on just fine, it's the turning off that is hit and miss. :dontknow:Could it be the distance from the camera? Most remotes have a limited range.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, the GoPro shuts off OK but about 5 sec. later it comes on again and stays on until the battery dies. I finally talked to the tech at GoPro and we tried to diagnose the problem over the phone. No LuckDid you ever figure out why it wasn't shutting off ???

There is a separate battery for the remote. It's possible the battery is run down a bit so your remote isn't operating at peak power.
I never had a problem with my remote, but I mount the remote on the handlebars and the camera on the dash not more than 2 feet away.
How do you get the You Tube videos to post so clearly ?
When I post, the videos are always low quality.
Do I need to get a paid account with You Tube ?
That's what it acts like. I'll call and see what they say. ThanksSounds like a contact problem with the micro switch for the off button. :chat:
Right now I'm looking at some of the wifi SD cards. I'm thinking either the 4 or 8 gig card. I think a 4 will do me just fine as you can easily dump the card to your laptop or ipad by wifi.
The other thing is I won't be taking a lot of video I don't want or need now that I have the remote. Many times I fill a card or drain the battery down to nothing because I don't get off the bike and turn the camera off. This will fix that.
