• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another 36 mpg to report

Well, yesterday I was out and about with some 70+ and some 25 and all that is in between. I went a grand total of 150.7 miles using 4.1 gallons which works out to be 36.75 mpg. Woot.....

I wonder if the THIN AIR helps, and going downhill, I tryed to check mine going to SPYDERFEST, but the paper got wet, So I will try again next year:clap:
 
Just for grins... to go downhill....you first have to go uphill.....lol

As for the thin air, it is possible, but with Fuel Injection, the computer is supposed to compensate for the differences. I used to notice that at sea level I had tons more HP than I did here at home with my Wings and the Vision also....

OK... yep...... I believe......Now tell me your average speed and whether or not expressway (miles ) vs country roads..

I assume the 70+ you quoted was burst mode and the 25 to 40 was really what you were running.
 
mileage in mountains

Not sure if this applies but we always get better mileage with our motorhome in the mountains than on the flats. I know you have to go up before you go down but the mpg going up is around 4 while the mpg down sometime reaches 99.9 on the digital readout. Thus the overall mileage increase is about 20% for me from 7.8 on the flat land to almost 10 in the mountains. Saw the same thing with my Honda PCH. Lower octane gas 86 is all that was available plus no alcohol. That combination worked well for me.

7 hours in the rain and I had the same issue. :gaah: ...BUT, it was worth the ride. :2thumbs:
 
Thin air at altitude equals a less-dense air "ingredient"... the computer will lean out the mix with a less-dense fuel charge... Kind of like why you'll get better economy in the warmer months... (Warmer air is less-dense as well.)

lower temperatures at sea level: lots of power, but more fuel is used...
higher temperatures at elevation: power falls off, but economy improves!

Regardless of any of this... :thumbup: to 36mpg! :clap:
 
I've gotten any where from 29 to 36 mpg. It depends on how you ride the :spyder2: Gus /glory 29mpg old man 36 mpg I normal avg around 32 mpg guest you could put me in the mid age driver :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: It all depends on your ryding style :dontknow:

According to the Garmin, (sorry I didn't get back to this sooner) it was 57 mph for the whole 150 miles. I probably rode about 75 miles of that at 70 and the rest below, very little 25 mostly at 50 or above.

I figured my mpg for Spyderfest at 34.6. 2873 miles 82.85 gallons for $401.36 All interstate mostly cloudy overcast skies.
