• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Fender Vibration

Well, once again I have lost a liscense plate due to either vibration, wind resistance, or a combination of both.

I discovered last night that all that was left of my liscense plate was the two top corners that my replacement screws with fender washers and lock nuts were holding.

It's important that the bottom part of the plate be fastened as well. My bike came with two velcro fasteners on the back of the plate at each bottom corner. This same thing that happened to you happened to a friend of mine. Use either velcro or duct tape. I think it is more wind flow that flexes the plate and eventually fatigue cracks the top of the plate.

:agree: These fasteners are actually 3M dual-Locks. They hold better than Velcro. They're in the BRP parts list, and you should have received a pair with your RS.

I lost my plate (and factory velcro) this winter. I added better bolts but will add the extra velcro for the bottom of the plate. Thanks for the heads up on holding the bottom of the plate alos! :2thumbs:

My plate rattle so bad it broke also. I managed to get it before I lost it. I have gone through two sets of rear fender brackets, fixed rear brackets and two license plate holders. Finally I bought a heavy duty plate bracket with a back and that worked. I also duct taped my license plate back together from the back side. It is all for naught now though. I just put RideON in my rear tire and took the wheel weights off and Brian relocated my license plate. My Spyder rides smoother than it has ever before. I have used RideOn before but never took the wheel weights off. I don't know why it is different this time but it is so nice. Here is a photo of my new plate location.
