Day Runner Pucks mounting places?...

I am eyeballing the DR Pucks on ESI... Has anyone created/found/used a mount of some kind for these on the front inside rims?

The thought here is my desire to have these pucks aim where my front tires go for better lighting in the corners (We have a LOT of them).

If this is not possible my next option will be on the A-arms themselves. I hate lights that move/vibrate and this seems to be the next best solid mounting place.

Make a flat mounting plate, paint it black, clamp it to the fender brace with U bolts, hook it up to your fender tips if they don't blink, or per instructions and extend the wires.hyea:

If I am reading your thread correctly, you already have a bunch of lights on your machine?
Regarding the subject of the dayrunner pucks. I have installed them on my Spyder where ESI shows them placed. I like them but from my experience, these pucks are good for just what they say... Day Runners. This is only my opinion so please take it for what it is worth. If you want something to light things up in the corners at night, then purchase night lights from ESI. These Day Runners are no replacement for night running lights. (Nor do they claim to be and I appreciate ESI being upfront in this matter.) I had hoped when I purchased them that they would work as nice night lights to light up the road but they do not do that very well in my opinion. (Again, this is only my opinion. I wanted the dayrunners to serve a purpose they were not intended for.) Whatever you decide, keep us informed. Nice to hear what works and doesn't work for people. Keep it on 3-wheels. :thumbup: Jerry

At this time the only lights I have added or changed on this Spyder are the tips. I am still in the "What way am I going to go" process.

I was not able to find any Night Lights form ESI pps:

However I found a post from a fellow member that I think helped me identify my next lights...

I'll add one more alternative here. http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/hstrial-QualiRegResou/StoreFront.bok 1500 lumens for the 24 watt version and only 2 amps.

A couple of notes about the ADV Monster LED lights...
I called them recently and they had the 10w LEDs on sale, 2 for $70. They previously had 24w LEDs without 3 mode dimming, but have them on backorder now. Several people have had problems keeping the 3 mode feature synchronized between 2 lights, so using the external dimmer may be better. Sure would like to hear more from someone who has used these lights....

:yikes: WOW thats not good.I purchased them because on there site they show a pic of the day runner pucks only on NO HEADLIGHTS and they shine up the whole driveway.I know its just your opinion but DAM they shine up the driveway big time. :dontknow:

I guess I was speaking of fog lights etc. Additional bright "reach out there and touch someone" lights.

Well stormtrooper, when I installed mine, I put them on at night with someone in a car facing towards me. I wanted to use them as night lights and so when I set them up, I did not want to blind the oncoming traffic. After achieving the non-blinding effect, "again in my opinion" I realized these do not do what I wanted them to do. I believe they are called "Dayrunners" for a reason. I saw the pics of them hitting the garage as well. Actually based my decision on buying them from that pic but once I installed them and got out on the road, I quickly realized these are not what I was looking for. "You may install them and they do exactly what you want them to do." I hope that is the case.
I think if I use them during the daytime, angled up to catch peoples attention, I think they will work great. Easy install. (Thanks ESI !)
I actually want to get some sort of adhesive remover, unstick these dayrunners and angle them up for better "BE SEEN" during the day riding.

I have had them installed for a while now and I am totally satisfied. I have actually rode around at night without headlights on just to see if its possible, and it is but I don't recommend that as they don't have the reach of headlights but are probably as good as most fog lights and its been reported that they work better than the BRP fogs. I also run them without the headlights on in daytime. I installed a switch for the headlights[which are useless in the day] and have extra bright led tip lights in the fenders. The combination of the day runners and bright tips are more than enough...

I have the 24watt dimmable lights installed on my '09 GS. The light is dimmed by turning it off for less than 2 seconds. When turned back on they go up one level or back to the lowest level from the highest level. I did have one instance that the lights going out of sequence. One light moved up one level while the other stayed the same.

I took a 45 minute ride last night between snow falls. I need to aim them a few different ways to see how well it works. I think I have them aimed down too much right now. Running them on the second level did not have anyone flash their lights at me but didn't see much improvement over the low beam light. When turned to the high level they did light up the road pretty good.

These are a good quality lights but being mounted low the light is going to be limited. The 10w lights are more of a narrow spot light type pattern.
