• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

100,000 KM (62136.8 miles) fix for the GS/RS

Thanks for this info Lamont. I still have quite a bit of ryding to do before reaching 60K, but it is good to know that BRP listened and came up with a fix for the problem.

:yes::yes::yes:

I thought getting rid of the 1/10 of a mile on the odometer would be the easiest fix. Now it's like my Subaru WRX:D

I can procrastinate on this update for a while since I have about 45k to go...:doorag:

question

They have a fix for your odometer now that will allow you to go over 100,000 KM (62136.8 miles) without resetting.

Here's the catch, you have to get the software update BEFORE it turns over.

Have your dealer make sure he has the latest version of BUDS (3.0.5) and then have them go to the toolbar and go to modular>cluster and then they can download the update.

You will lose the 10th of a mile in the odometer but it will be retained in the trip meter.

Hey there guys!

A couple quick questions:

1. Does anyone have a copy of this cluster update bulletin they could share on here? I would like to have a copy for my maintenance / log book.

2. My dealer mentioned they did the cluster update on my SM5 2010 today - to fix the resetting odometer mentioned in this post. From the buds printout I see the BUDS version they used to generate the report is BUDS: 3.0.5.4. However, I still have my tenth kilometer digit. ie: xx,xxx.x. My understanding the fix would by side-effect remove that last digit.

So, I am wondering if the update to the cluster was performed correctly?

Did anyone have this update completed without problems? If so, do you have your tenth digit xx,xxx.x? Photo to share? What am I missing and wondering how I can tell if the update was completed ok?

Thoughts/Comments appreciated.

I looked for a post I thought I saw previously where it said once you hit the 'magic number' the tenths digit disappears; but, I could not find it. The problem I have found is that some members post within a thread and then remove it. So, you sometimes look for a post that did actually exist; but, is now gone.

Here's a thread where SpyderGirl mentions having the update done and still showing tenths.

You got it - Spydergirl mentions it here:

Yeah, maybe we don't loose the 1/10th until we are about to roll odometer over that magic number.
Cheers!

Woo Hoo....

So I hit the magic hours..... and it stopped.
1070.9 with only 34,000.
Off to the dealer to get the reset.
Thanks MMcc, you found the answer for me pretty damn quick!
Can't wait for our Europe on CanAm trip, next year!
