The timing chips that will be used will measure down to 1000th of a second. If not mistaken, it will be difficult to have a tie. Also you would have to start at the identical time from the starting line and cross the finish line at exactly the same time. It is doubtful that this will happen but it is possible.
If this is true, then I can see at each checkpoint, just prior to arriving, a jocking ride for position, like a mini race, or bump and run,, etc... That is not good, I don't think for a group to have separte times if they arrive as a group.
As to the fuel issue, I have been lucky to get 28mpg on my RT and anything above 120 would put me on the side of the road. Yes, the spec's of the RT fuel tank state 6.5 Gallons.. BUT, at least 1/2 gal is above the fuel cap. I was empty, dry, and could only get 6 and spilled some of that. If you have ever run out of fuel on the Mohave Desert, then you know not to run out of fuel. Thankfully, I was pulling my trailer which has a 3.5 gal tank mounted, which saved my #$%.
You ran out of gas!??? :yikes:
Tell me it ain't so!
Well if you did not hear the G Gordon Liddy radio show on Friday, it was announced that Guts & Glory Rally Across America is offering riders a chance to ride 1 or 2 legs of the rally. It is called Guts & Glory Ride 4 a Reason. All the details will be on our website within a week. Participation will be limited to 500 riders per leg. Leg riders will have their own prizes to ride for. The Rally riders will still have the $1000 per leg plus the $100,000 dollars prize & the Dave Perewitz motorcycle to compete for. All miles ridden by Rally riders and Leg riders will count toward the total miles ridden for our charities. I have heard that the "leg" riders will compete for a $1000 dollars per leg plus other prizes. Keep an eye on the website for more details. www.gutsandgloryrally.com
