• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SE owners who change their own oil

Fiche calls a lot of things a drain plug. Follow the manual and change your oil like you have done in every other vehicle. Lowest sump bolt is usually it.

Yep! There it is in Real Life! Don't mean to cause a stir. The Parts Fiche calls it a drain plug. But Lamont says the manual doesn't mention it in the oil change process.

I follow the recommended every-other-oil change for the shifting filter. The last time I pulled the oil with the engine nicely warmed up, pulled the engine drain plug and filter, the resevoir tank drain plug and the shift filter. Then left it sit overnight. When reassembling the next day, a substantial amount of the oil had drained from the hydraulic shifter.

It would make sense that one could use the side plug to drain in the 'tween oil changes like BR stated - hey, man, I agree!!! But it would create a royal pain for oil cleanup down the side of the ribbed cover.

The drain plug on my 27-hp Kohler lawn tractor engine has a neat right angle brass gadget that could work nicely to move the oil out far enough so as not to run down the case ('cept I don't know about the thread size).

Happy Halloween!
