• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife, Geri, and I had planned a nice ride today and wanted to use the trailer to get used to it. We took off without any destination in mind. Today was a gorgeous day with the temps reaching into the 70's by the afternoon. After about 80 miles it was time to stop for eats. We got a couple of sandwiches to go, put them in the cooler in the trailer, and headed for a park. Out came the chairs, the cooler and some chips while we basked in the sun. We headed home, filling up with 134 miles on the tank, the gauge reading nearly empty, and put 4.24 gallons in the bike, for just under 32 mpg. All together an outstanding day. And it was great to bring lawn chairs and a cooler and be able to stop for a picnic!

p.s. Can anyone tell me recommended tire pressure for the trailer? All I can read on the sidewall is the max pressure of 60 psi. Thanks.

Great Question! You would think there would be something written somewhere about these trailers other than a $3.8+k sticker price.

Even my dealer here said they are unaware of any published info on the trailer from a maintenance point. What is the tire torque when tire change is needed or what's the procedure to replace the shocks? :dontknow:
Or, how to properly install the core lock so it won't pop-out. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Tire pressure is to be 35lbs cold
Lug nuts 77 ft/lbs
Shock removal/replacement is also in there
 
I think they have a bulletin on the lock install issue. I am also just getting used to pulling the trailer. We took it for a ride to the dealer on Friday to pick up my new lock. It was really windy and it handled very good, there were a few gusts of wind that were a little nerve wracking but all in all it was great.

My first trip with the trailer was to Costco and I did a good job of filling it up. We leave on Wednesday for a trip to Kansas and I will be pulling the trailer. I am hoping for good (calm) weather.

This winter I hope to be able to modify the trailer so that we can bring our 85 pound golden retriever with us.

love taking the trailer! We brought along tons of stuff when my wife and Dog went to BigBear Lake last month

Where exactly is this info in the Spyder "Owners Manual"???

I know the front wheel torque is 77'# (ref: pg. 521 of the "RT Shop Manual", pg. 550 for Shocks & pg. 651 (pg. 119 of "Owner's Manual") for the Bike's Tire Pressure (nothing for trailer tire pressure) -BUT- the "Shop Manual" MUST be purchased & IS NOT the same as the "Owners Manual" which is included w/every purchase).

I see nothing regarding the 622 Trailer in either my "Owner's Manual" or "Shop Manual".

Is there a "Trailer Manual" for the 622 Trailer? If so, I didn't get mine.

Seems you guys are finding information these blind eyes can't see...well at least tonite they can't!

May I suggest that if anyone finds written info that they include the name of the document its found in along with the page number it may be found on. This way the info that is posted may be EASILY found and validated by other members.
We all make mistakes, I just don't want to "learn more mistakes" than I need to because someone else was mistaken.

I have the spyder service manual i got from Midwest manuals for $25 and it has a whole section on the trailer. That might be where he is getting the info. it has useful pictures too.

Ahhhhh that might explain it! I got mine from the "Dealer" (which happens to be the same one their techs use) and we all know how "Up To Date" our BRP Dealers have been! LOL

Seems the Spyder Community is better informed, as this case proves, than the information the Dealers get from the manufacturer themselves!

Did my references match up in your manual as being on the same page? I know its likely not, but it is worth asking because if I post info from that manual I will have to include the NAME of the manual as well as page #.

My delaer provided me with an addendum to the RTS manual, about 6 pages with the trailer info on them, and I have Midwests manual on CD also.
Sorry about the confusion.

Well, the important thing was to get the needed information. Thanks very much. I try not to post questions that are easily answered in the owner's manual. Guess the shop manual is in my future.

LOL. I went for 3 weeks waiting for my dealer to get me a n owners manual and I finally found it when I took the front trunk liner out. It was buried behind it. I posted so many questions while waiting and once I found the manual, I realized it didnt cover most of what I was asking anyway. The Midwest manual off ebay is great

The trailers do tow nicely dont they. I have had mine all over the place. Now, about the fix for the water running inside when we open them.....Hmmmmmm

From the pictures in their preview of the 2011 trailer, it looks like they added a shelf inside to divert the water. Not sure where...maybe some attached drains? Their press release indicated that 2010 trailer owners could get the upgrade.
