• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Alternative Hotel for the Can-Am Spyder Owners Event

Hope I get to see some of you guys

I am planning to go to Chicago, but have a place to stay downtown at a friends house. It was the only way I could afford to go- I just hope I get to meet some of you folks Friday and Sat.:doorag:

What exactly is this event?

I live in a southwest suburb of Chicago, and would hate to miss this thing. But I'd like a little more information.

Oh, I just read, and I guess you have to already own a Spyder. Oh, well...maybe next time!

Two from Southwestern Ontario

We are booked for 2 nights at the Candlewood Suites in Libertyville. Look forward to meeting everyone and taking a few ATV's and Seadoos for a spirited run.:ohyea:

Hey NorthStar, when are you headed that way, Fastfraser also from Ontario is coming too. I think we are hooking up on I-69 for the ride down, no details just yet. We live just 5 miles off I-69 if you come through the border at Sarnia. We are about an hour west of Sarnia. Let us know.

OK it is official. Just booked a studio suite for my wife and myself. Lamont, thanks for finding an alternate location. Our reservation at the Host hotel was almost $400.00 for 2 days and I didn't realize how far from the actual event the hotel was. We hope to roll in sometime after noon on Friday, not sure how long after... (I'm not sure the fact we will be riding for 13 or 14 hours the first two days has really hit Debbie yet) we will just have to wait and see. It is going to be fun to see everybody again.

Hawkiii I just booked a room there also - there will be a group ryde out there so if you can join us let me know.

So, this is definitely JUST for OWNERS of the Spyder, correct?
It seems to me that this is for Spyder Owners AND Spyder Lovers. I would think that anyone that has a "Spyder Jones":spyder2: would be welcome. Eh, Lamont:dontknow:

I think Derwin was asking about the BRP event in Chicago which is only for owners. I don't think he was asking about the SpyderLovers forum which is for everybody.

I'm sure anyone could show up to things like the Friday night meet and greet at Navy Pier (it's a public place afterall---)... but I think you're correct that the events at the Lehmann Mansion are for owners only.

It's all about body language, show up and act like you own the place, that's what I do. :D

FYI- there have been 32 rooms booked so far and they still have plenty of studio rooms available. Can't wait. :doorag:

:agree:

Did that once on a scavenger hunt on Mackinac Island... we were supposed to get something from the prestigious Grand Hotel (napkin, matchbook, something). Everyone else was afraid to try and get inside--- I just walked up like I owned the place-- no worries....
