2020 RT Limited Rear Case Removal - does the cover come with the bike? Should I expect it when buying a used bike?

I just watched a video on 'What's new for the 2020' and a Limited was shown. The guy easily removed the rear case and put a cover of matching paint in the open space for a sportier look. Does that cover come with the bike - should I expect that it would be sold with a used bike?

I don't think the cover comes with the 2020 RT Limited. You can buy the cover from the BRP 'parts' site. It's called a rear fairing, cost ~$260.

Bob, back in 2020 when I purchased my RTL, I had to buy the back cover. Later models now have gotten the cover with their purchase. Maybe that was only for the Sea to Sky models.

It comes with the Sea to Sky up to 2025, in 2026 they give you a bike cover instead.

With a used machine from a dealer, you can probably ask them to throw it in if it doesn't have one.
The same goes for a private seller. Just ask if they have it. If they don't, you can score one for a couple hundred buck, I'm sure.

My RT Base came with the generic all black (non color matched) top case as part of the build. When it was shipped to me, the cover for the rear
wasn't with it. I called the dealer and asked about it, and they shipped it to me at no additional costs. However, this was the tail end of 2020.
Time has a way of changing things.

My 2024 Spyder RT Sea2Sky was delivered with the top case installed, and also came with a big flat box.
The flat box included the driver's seat backrest and it's mounting hardware, and the cover that I could use to replace the top case if I wanted to remove it.

Keep an eye on ebay and you might find one there. I found one that was listed as a frunk lid for a 2021. The picture clearly showed me what it was and I bought it for $40.
