• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the Canyon Riding position narrower than the RT's? Enough to notice & stop cramping hips?

I ride a 2023 Spyder RTL and its width makes my hips cramp so bad that I have to stop and get off. I'm told the Canyon is narrower. Is it enough narrower to notice and maybe stop my hips from cramping. I know I need to go sit on one to know for sure, but if you tell me it's not, it will save me a trip. Thanks everyone. Oh, by the way, I'm 70 years old and not very flexible.

I am 81 and have similar issues at times, and I just stop, get off, and walk it off. In May 2024 I did a 6 day 1850 mile repositioning/bucket list ride, and survived it. I may even ride the Spyder in my sig line from AZ to WA in the Spring of next year, if I buy the 2019 I am looking at.

Motion is life, keep moving. I am 76 years old and will be riding my Canyon Redrock today. I stand up on my Canyon at slow speed for body motion or stop after a couple of hours. My Canyon will be turning 4000 miles very soon and I'm enjoying every public road, especially ones posted (No ATVs). Whether on gravel road or the express way, the Canyon is comfortable.

Decreased storage on the Canyon vs the RT/F3 and a 4000 mile ride?! RU you going to sleep at a laundry mat ever other night? Just staying!

I take a different approach and my avatar tells a bit of the story. If one has stiffness or lacks flexibility, the way to solve or reduce the problem is to do exercises before climbing on the steed; incorporate it into your daily routine. Yoga or a stretching program will help one immensely. At 84 the 1600+ mile round trip to Spyderquest three weeks ago was a piece of cake.

Asphalt Animal, the Canyon has a narrow seating position with your feet dropped directly below. It put me immediately in mind of my dual-sport bikes of the past, DR650, BMW GS, and so forth. I'm selling my F3-S for the same reason you mention, the seating position is too wide for my comfort on day long rides. I have some old accident injuries and a good bit of hardware in my left side, a sprawled seating position just won't work over the long haul. I hope you'll find a Canyon and give it a sit. Good luck!

Sarah
