Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

So far my longest is 780 miles in a day. Love every minute of it too

It is exciting to see the miles racked up by our Spyder riders. The other thing I like about this thread is that we are getting some people post who don't post very often. It is fun to see some new faces. Keep riding and posting.

PS John, looking forward to reading another story or 2 of your adventurers.
Purpleon3 I understand. Heart attack 2 years ago. Been working on getting my stamina back also, still have a ways to go. Just keep working on it.

The wife and I rode the two F3-S’s to the meetup in Nixa last year. Rode from home to Sulphur Springs, TX, the first day. A little over 600 miles … and still not out of Texas yet!

Most miles in a day so far is 525 last year from home to our first stop in PA. From where we live, it is almost always 400-500 miles before you get anywhere interesting/fun roads (on a tour - plenty of day rides around).

We did 470 our first day this year to get to Branson (with a stop in Nixa for some additions).

I will say the 500 miles on the Spyder are easier than any 2 wheeler we've had. And we have done many years of 500-ish miles on the first day of our annual trip.

I am in awe at how far some of you have ridden at one time. so many in the 700 - 900 range and Baja Ron at over 1400! You have got to be kidding me! So my 450 miles that I did is starting to feel quite anemic. Well done fellow Spyder lovers!

I did a little under 2000 miles in just under 6 days the longest leg was from Raleigh NC to Tifton, Ga. at about 520 miles.

Then I went from Tifton, Ga to Deals Gap going through thunderstorms on the way to Tellico Plains and the Skyway on the way.

Luckily I broke through the storms right before I hit the Skyway and stopped for dinner. Made for a beautiful evening ride on the skyway.

Between tellico plains and Robbinsville I only saw one other car and motorcycle. I pretty much had the skyway to myself to enjoy.

As Martin would say ..it was my own private road. :riding:

My contribution

Well, aside from an Ironbutt, Bunburners, and all that, the first summer we had the machine (2011) we rode from Charleston SC to Moberly MO, one whack, 924 miles. Didn't have the trailer yet, so packing was interesting. Would I do it again? Yes, not midsummer in the midwest though!

Multiple Ironbutt SS1000 miles in less than 24 hrs, Then when going for my first BB1500 (in <36hrs) I rode 1,344 4:36 AM to 4:36AM) with a fellow Spyder rider while attempting a Pines to Palms IBA ride. Overall we rode 1,800 miles in less than 36 hrs, but we were so toasted we slept for 12hrs in Ft. Meyers Fl without reaching Key West in the allotted Pines to Palms cutoff.

I live in New Jersey, and I bought my 2021 RT Base in Talladega AL on June 18-19, 2022. I flew into Alabama and drove the RT back home overnight. On the way, I stopped by my son's house in the morning, in Maryland, took him out to breakfast, then took the Lewes Ferry to Cape May NJ, then home. I did not realize it was Father's Day. Total miles driven - 953.

So I bought my own Father's Day present!!

I am glad to find some serious LD riders in the group.

Lamont and I coming back from a trip to California. 1st day, San Diego to Albuquerque, NM. 770 miles.

2nd day. Albuquerque, NM to Greeneville, TN. 1,457 miles.

I rode my 2008 GS SM5. I don't remember which Spyder Lamont rode. He's had so many. But he was pulling his Can-Am trailer.

That was one to remember. No one ever believes me when I tell the story. But they always believe Lamont when he tells it. Never quite figured that one out...:dontknow:

Done that on two wheels but not on my Spyder. Probably won't. After about 50 IBA rides on two wheels they are not fun anymore for me. I will be doing an IBA SS1000 on it this fall just because.

Did I say that ride was fun? What actually happened is that when we left Albuquerque, NM, Lamont commented that he could ride as long as I could. We didn't really set out to go that distance. This because most every time we rode long distance, he wanted to quit before I did. When you ride together a lot, things like this kind of settle in, if you know what I mean.

We got to a point, just outside of Memphis, where Lamont cried 'Uncle' and we decided to pull over at a rest stop and try to get some winks. But between the spiders and the ants (a bit of the story that I left out), he got mad enough to wake himself up and we did the remaining 450 miles or so.

I not only don't intend to attempt this again. I'm sure I couldn't do it again. But fun? Not a chance!

We've got a LOT of wide open spaces here in Oz, and from where I live, riding North or West for anything more than a couple of hours &/or a couple of hundred miles is pretty much into the Outback or the wiiiiide open treeless plain called the Nullarbor Plain; so if you want to actually get anywhere out there, you really need to do what most of you would call 'Long Distance Endurance Riding'!! nojoke - And I've done those sorta trips fairly often - 3600+ kms in 36 hours isn't uncommon. And heading the other way is a bit more populated, but there's still scope for riding some reasonable distances fairly quickly! In fact, the weekend I purchased my 2013 RT Spyder, I picked it up at 09:00 on a Saturday; 'ran it in' riding about 600km that day; got its 'first oil change' done that evening; then the next day, Sunday, I rode it home, about 1000km; and I backed it up the day after with the Child Bride on the back for a 900 odd km round trip. It had its 3000 km service done when it was just 5 days old! You'll hafta do the km/miles conversion, but that was just for starters! ;)

Since then, in the few years we've had the Spyder, the Child Bride & I have done a fair few reasonably long rides, mostly with a small Assistance Dog coming along too! (See Max, my previous Assistance Dog, in my Avatar pic on the left! My current A/Dog, Buster, is just a little bigger. ;) ) This sorta riding/travel is almost a necessity for us - the Wife's family lives over 1300 km away, so that's a fairly regular trip that we usually do in a day... well, more often it's 'a night' that used to be 10-12 hours of riding, but now that I'm getting a little more tired & decrepit & the 'speed policing' is becoming more stringent, it's more often a 12-14 hour 'night'! Travelling long distances, especially over-night, is a skill & a habit I developed & still maintain from a previous life! ;) And I've got family living 1800 odd km away, so that's a less regular trip, but generally something we do every second year or so - 'a day' (or night :p ) of riding getting there & 'a day' (or night) getting back home again leaves more time there to spend with the family! :ohyea:

But we've got lotsa roads that only have (small) towns &/or Service Stations every 250-300 km apart, with open roads & not much else between; altho these days, with the fairly recent increase in point-to-point speed monitoring on most major routes, it's getting a lot harder to average speeds up around 130 kph or over for too long/too far; and the only place that is legal now is in the Northern Territory, and only on some roads at that!

Four of us were headed to Rochester Minnesota the third week of June 2024 for the national Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association meeting which is held in different cities every year. Three members of the group were on HDs, I was on my 2014 RTS which had 7000 miles on it so it needed a ride! We left Macon GA at 0500 Wednesday morning and stayed in O’Fallon Missouri the first night (780 miles or so) and rolled in to Rochester around midday on Thursday. At that point I was showing a bit over 9000 miles. Right outside of Rochester, during a gas stop, I noticed my back tire was bald through the center. We’re all thinking, What the heck! The pressure was correct and the bike wasn’t overloaded. We had hit some twisties a few miles back and I was right there with the Harley’s (the boys were amazed to say the least). We were very, very lucky. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining yet, which the forecast showed. The first thing Friday morning I visited the local dealership for a tire replacement only to find out no tires were available and wouldn’t be until Tuesday the following week. We were leaving Sunday for Macon so that put me in a bit of a bind. I had planned on selling my 2014 spyder RTS in August and buying a new 2024 Spyder RTL or S2S. Luckily the dealership had a new 2024 Spyder RTL in Marsala on the floor. I learned a long time ago to always have several models in mind so you’re never disappointed with your choice. So the 2014 spyder RTS sits in Rochester Minnesota and a new 2024 Spyder RTL sits in my garage. It doesn’t ride near as well as my 2014 but it was heavily modified so there is some catching up to do. We left as planned on Sunday, stayed right outside of St. Louis Sunday night and rolled into Macon Georgia on Monday afternoon. My new bike showed 1250 miles on the tripometer.
