I have done 600K+ miles on 2 wheels. This did not come about by stopping every couple of hours. Better MPG? Sure, that would be nice, but it is the tank range! When riding in MT, SD, WY, etc. you have to stop even more often to assure having enough gas. One poster replied with, it's not going to happen. At 77 y.o. I have found we can usually make things happen when we have enough desire.
Perhaps a couple of Redas stored in the left saddlebag?? :dontknow:
I usually get about 230 miles in the city, and a little more that 300 on the highway with the cruise control on. I can stretch it out more with some real conservative driving or the speed limit, which doesn't happen too often.
unless most of the trip is down hill and you are at an idle 200 miles per tank wont happen. we are getting 33-34 mpg and are thrilled with that...
I gained better range of miles since last year, and plan to increase the range in the next year or so. How you ask? I'm losing weight. :roflblack:
