• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Iconic aeroplanes!

Drove the Spyder to our local airport today.
The local AmCar Norway Club had an event and advertised an airshow as well.
I walked around and there were a lot of different cars, new and old.
Since I live less than 8km (direct line) from the airport, I hurried home and set my DSLR camera up with a nice lens and waited for the planes to take to the sky.
I did not have to wait long.

Spitfire

I live in the UK and last year did a tour on my S2S of south east England. As I was passing close to Biggin Hill, a WW2 fighter base, I decided to drop in to take a look around the hangers of the Biggin Hill Heritage Factory. To cut a long story short, I managed to get a 45min flight out over the English Channel. During the flight the pilot let me take control a few times just doing lazy "S" turns and then he took back control and did 4 victory rolls. I did not make use of the sick bags but nearly did, close shave. The curving side slipping landing in a cross wind was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take anything on the aircraft, so no photos I'm afraid.
Alan.

Oh, that would have been awesome to experience once, I bet you had a great time. Too bad about no photos, but rules are rules. Thank you for the story.

Very cool! I know you are in Norway - but if you like planes - I was fascinated by the Blue Angels Documentary on Amazon Prime.

.

The Reno Air Races have been moved out of state, but the amount of FAST WW2 planes racing pylons at over 400 MPH is amazing.
