• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

That would be a big wrench.

Oh come onnn! You know they're gonna use a rattle gun on that!! :lecturef_smilie:

The BIIIG Rattle Gun mind you, but still!! :p

Can't ya just imagine fronting up to the Hardware store/Bolt Shop & asking for 6 of those things!! :roflblack:

Mind you, there's no way I'd be picking an argument with the fella who just handed me a wrench that big! :yikes:

I have worked with some bolts and nuts with 4 to 6 inch diameter shafts, that held the bearings for ball mills or huge dryers. The bearing and bolts were lifted to the mounting platforms and set with cherry pickers. We tightened the bolts down with huge hammer wrenches and a 16 pound sledge hammer. Never worked with anything the size of the ones in the picture. Bad enough to swing a 16 pound sledge for a couple hours.

Bolts about that size, maybe larger, that are used to fasten down the lid on a nuclear reactor are not torqued. They are stretched, the nuts run down snug, and the stretcher is released. Good way to get the tension in them that is needed. Beats torquing for accuracy!

You just can't believe everything you see on the Web.......
