• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

:clap::thumbup:

They're selling them in pounds...still no DOT approval, eh? If so, you cannot wear them here in the States...as far as what shape head it will fit...so far, only an English crumpet style head...

The helmets are ECE 22 052, and IMMETRO approved with British racing Approval.
The DOT helmet will be available this summer 2010.

Thats the coolest thing I have ever seen. The only thing better would be an augmented reality video display. I can dream.

Thinking of buying the Reevu and making my Shoei my spare.

We can assume then that we'll see them for sale in the States sometime during the fall...(unlikely they'll get DOT and have them on the market within a few weeks)...looks like the price will be around 300-400?? That's going by the Euro prices (it was Euro, not pounds)...that's still awefully high!

I paid over $600 for a simpson racing helmet a bunch of years back and now I need a new one because the snell rating is over five years old and tracks require this, but to me safety is more important than money. Now I would'nt say his helmet is as good as simpsons or bell, but it does have a nice feature that no other helmet has. I will check it out further once it gets rated.

I've always been interested in this helmet. I've got a $400 V-Can flip up with Bluetooth and a Scorpion 700 full. My wife would kill me if I get this.

Why is it when the next best thing since sliced bread comes along, somebody comes up with the next -next best thing?

What I need are some more round 2its.:2thumbs:

Never assume, you know the old saying.
It's not awefully high when a quality helmet can cost from $250 to $500...
CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON SAFETY, :lecturef_smilie: after all, some of us have already purchased inflatable airbag jackets that start at $300 and up...:yikes:

Hey, this isn't for everyone, but me personally I would love to own one of these puppies if it fits my head.

I don't see how this helmet equates to being safer...an airbag jacket WILL save your life if you fly off your bike...I don't think a rear-view mirror on a helmet is a life-saver...none of the other helmets have that and they're quite safe. If you fly off your bike, will this helmet protect your bowling ball better than any other? I doubt it...will an airbag jacket prevent fracture and organ damage...most definitely yes!

This is one of those items that I can't buy unless I actually can try it on and see if the rear view mirror adds any real value.

.

Ahh... but is indeed, just like in your car. Try driving all the time without your rearview mirror. If you do a little R&D on this helmet you'll find that quite a few very well known helmet manufactures tried to block this company from bringing it to market, you ask why? Because they can't copy the technology for 7 years.

What would make this a safer helmet is, if you happen to see some thing you might not have seen without it. It's always good to know what's around you.

I understand that point but I've never really had an issue with the side mirrors and peripheral vision. I would think if you're in a city with more aggressive drivers, it would be beneficial...I'm more in suburbia and I'm not sure how much I would need it...then again, if it's compelling enough, is comfortable, and the price is right, I'd definitely consider...more importantly, I like the sunglass drop-down my HJC has...I wonder if this helmet will have that as well?
