• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I did the Oil, trans filter, & fuel filter change on my Spyder!

I completed all of these things yesterday and even though it took me most of the afternoon I know it was done right and I saved a few (probably quite a few) bucks. The hardest part of it was getting to the fuel filter. It is in a different place to access..! But I’m just stubborn enough to stay at it til it was done. I got the oil change kit and trans filter from BajaRon and fuel filter from Amazon.
Do t need to worry about it for a while now ..!!

Congratulations! And you probably did a better job that anyone else would. (We also sell the BRP fuel filters, by the way.) But what I want to caution in this regard is that we had a customer come in last month with a plastic fuel filter installed. He'd done the work himself and put less than 100 miles on the bike. The fuel filter looked like a pumpkin! It had swelled up quite a bit and frankly. I was surprised it had not burst. It was about ready to.

The Spyder fuel system is under high pressure. You can't just use any fuel filter that fits. Be sure you have a fuel filter that can take this pressure. Otherwise, you're doing yourself no favors. The BRP filter is unnecessarily expensive. I'll give you that. And there may be less expensive options that will work just fine. But please, do not cut corners on this one.

how often is the trans filter and fuel filter supposed to be changed? I have an oil change kit, bit there's only one filter in it?

28K on the 1330 HCM filter. Same for the fuel filter. There is only 1 filter in the Oil Service Kit because of the extended HCM filter interval.

Did you raise your Spyder?

...How high did you raise your Spyder?
What equipment did you use?
A jack and or ramps. Or something else.

Any Tips would be appreciated if you could help us.

Yes, I am looking to try doing my own service work in the future.

Stay Healthy. ....

Depends on what you have at hand. You can use a floor jack and jack stands. Ramps can also work.

Tips

A few little tips for you:
1. Magic mirrors.
2. Hex head drain plugs .
3. A few minutes with a Dremel tool to open the area around the drain plugs.
4. Good lighting.

Others will add more tips for sure.

Ramps to run the front wheels up on then a scissor type jack to lift the back up ( jacking up on the lower shock bracket). I chocked the front wheels on the ramp for safety.

Be careful with that. Jacking on the rear shock bracket can bend the mounting bolt.
