• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear wheel/belt adjusted. Diff between forward and reverse !

Belt

Hi all !

Noticed my belt moved when I was reversing the Spyder, but looked normal after going back to forward driving again.
I checked if my rear wheel was loose, but everything seems ok, so I am wondering what would cause this ?:dontknow:
Adding link for two vids of forward and reversing. Big consern or leave as is ?

I watched the videos and was pleased with them.
This is the normal for the belt.
So all looks good for now.

Stay Healthy. ....

There's a fair bit of earlier discussion on this if you search, and it's quite normal. If it's aligned OK when it's driving forwards, it should be fine when it's going backwards but it WILL WANDER, especially in reverse! So unless your belt is actually running off or partially off either of the sprockets, it's of little concern, leave it alone!

Over to you!

If you ever have it up on a lift, put it in neutral and rotate the wheel one way and then the other way with your hands and watch how the belt will crawl one way and then crawl the other way.

On my 2020 RT, the belt would always crawl outward on the rear pulley when moving in reverse and it would crawl inward when moving forward.

There are various theories on why/how this happens (tapered pulleys, alignment, etc.) but it is disconcerting the first time you notice it. I do know that mine would crawl all the way out to the outboard side of the pulley when rolling backwards but would always return to the same spot on the pulley when rolling forward - it never moved inward more than what I had it final set at.

Thank you Peter for the links !
My belt wandered off to just the edge of the sprocket, but all of the belt was on it all the time.
I will leave it as it is and just ride :2thumbs:

Hi Wilco and thanks !
This is just how my belt was behaving. I am pleased to be able to not worry about this no more
Stay safe
