So it looks like our AUD $2.60+ a litre for Std ULP is still looking pretty exxy, even if it's no longer
quite so close to twice the price y'all are paying?!

There again, cos I
do tend to use the capabilities provided by the ECU Upgrade
a lot, I run my Spyder on 95 RON, and it's more expensive again (it works out to about $8.685 USD/US Gall) sooo.... :yikes: ......
For now, in my part of Oz we seem to be holding steady at the sorta prices mentioned above, give or take the usual weekly fluctuations of up to 5-10c or so per litre between the Tues-Friday lower price cycle & the higher prices from Friday Arvo 'til Tuesday Morning - well it
is the weekend or filling
after the weekend, so I guess they assume that's gotta be for recreation, and of course you'll pay more for gas when it's used for recreation!

So we generally try to fill on Tuesday arvo here,
AFTER the prices drop; then again
BEFORE Friday Lunchtime, when they go back up for the weekend! Then going on a weekend ryde over 200 miles or so isn't
quite so painful... :banghead:
But if you happen to travel much beyond the coastal fringe of 'settled areas' & head into the Outback, especially the remote Outback not only do you need to check carefully to see if there's gas available along your route, you should also expect to pay AUD $3.00
or more for Std ULP (
IF you can get it!
And when you can get it, it's rarely the Std 91RON most outlets sell in the cities, it's usually low octane 87RON 'Opal' fuel to discourage petrol sniffing.

) and it usually costs even more for diesel! . Many Outback pumps (not that there really are
all that many!

) especially the older 'analogue' style pumps, no longer bother with 'Cents' on the display - it's all just whole Dollars, rounded up.... I can tell you that putting in over $60 worth of 87 RON Opal gas to fill the Spyder (just under 20 litres) was a bit of a shock! :sour: And yeah, my milage/economy on the 87RON Opal
WAS significantly reduced! Barely got 100 miles of careful knock limiting/gas conserving running outta
that tank, against my usual 150-200 miles of (somewhat 'spirited'

) ryding from the 95 RON that I usually run. :sour:
Still, I'm sorta glad I'm not filling the Long Range tanks on the 4WD's any more - right now, filling one of those vehicles with diesel would take close to $1000! :yikes: Yeah, orright, I could usually expect to travel at least 3500kms or 2200ish miles on the almost 300 litres of diesel they carried, but still, outlaying that sorta cash is a big hit in the hip pocket! (And they're remote too, often no cell-phone service or internet, so cash is still king out there!

) But you gotta pay if you wanta go remote places in this wiiide country we've got here Down Under....
