• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help with a major quandary

i own a 2015 RT-s special series . with 14k on the clock, i am a tall gent and i am thinking about moving to a 2020 RTL. i am stuck on what way i should go . the room that the 2020 offers. is my biggest concern.

The 2020 RT's do have more room both in the seat and with the larger floorboards. If you are also long in arm you may find the reach to the bars fit you better. Of course with it using the F3 bars you also have more choices. I had a 2014 RT and I find my 2020 much more comfortable.

My ‘20 RTL is a highway couch. Swing the leg over, lean back and ride. Endless leg room with the 20” boards to move around, stay comfortable. I added a rider backrest bc I feel more ‘attached’ to the machine with something against my back.

When I go on group rides at fuel stops most want to walk around, stretch their backs. Me, I wanna put gas in and GO!

It's a great transition for some. Only you can answer the question. You need to go to a dealer and kick the tires and take an actual test ride. PS. save some time and bring the checkbook along.

Just my take - I'd heard that the '20s had better seating too. But the wife didn't like the passenger seat/backrest. Said it felt like it was pushing her too far forward. She prefers the seat on the '14.

If you are already riding an early model RT, then you will have more room on the 2020RT, with its longer seat and boards, Mosess. When you say that “the room that the 2020 offers is your biggest concern”, what exactly do you mean?....... and you need to define “tall”. I am 6’7” and ride an F3-L, and did not find the 2020 had enough legroom (more than previous RT models, but not as much legroom as the F3-L).

ARTraveller has made the key point though......you have to sit on it. Otherwise you won’t know.

Pete we are very close in size, i am 6.6 and 250....i had looked at the F3 but prefer the RT. i am on a rt-s 2015 now and i need more room. i am heading to the dealer this week. My 15 is in the shop getting a new compressor and air bag along with a check valve. I also just bought a new rear stage 2 shock from Lamonster. i am hoping the shock is the same so i can mount it on the new bike...I am not happy with the amount they want to give me for a trade but time is not on my side. 12.5 is what they want to give me...ill post pics asap. guys thank you..

Fingers crossed for you on the fit, Mosess. I don’t think there is any question you will have more room on a 2020 than your 15. It all comes down to inleg length, really. There was a tall lady (6’1”), with a 38” inleg, who recently posted that she was way too cramped on the 20 RT. But, like me, she was coming from an F3, and you really notice the difference then.
You should call Lamont about the shock fit on the 20RT. He would know by now.
......and yeah, trade in price is always a bone of contention, but for me it beats the heck out of the potential issues involved in a personal sale. ;)

Pete
