998 Oil Capacity

Hi I know this has been talked to death but what amount of oil does a 2012 RT need after a complete( both filters changed) oil change? Yes I have the manual but I know you don't get ALL the oil out on an oil change...Thanxopcorn:

I put in 4qts. Then run it up to temp and check and usually have to add .25 to .5 qt to bring it up to full.

There isn't much difference between the SM5 and the SE5 for oil volume. Just a few ounces more for the SE5.

Book is 4.3 qts, but I most always have to put a little more!

I just changed my sm-5 yesterday. Took 4.25 quarts. Thanks for the filters Ron.

Add that much only if it's needed to bring the oil level close to the upper mark. On the Spyder ALWAYS put in oil according to the marks on the dipstick, not the marks on the bottle!

I agree. You always want to add oil to the mark on your dip stick. (having measured oil level in the very important, prescribed manner). It is not good to use some arbitrary volume amount.
