• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Brought home my Spyder today

Hit the dealership and went over all the service records and inspected my 2013 Spyder ST today. This thing is beautiful and very well kept, I’m impressed! Has all the 2014 panel upgrades, new tires, new battery and only 2400 miles.

Took it out for a test ride on this lovely Minnesota January day - about 33 degrees.. ride smooth, shifts great, clutch is crisp and consistent and the idle was buttery smooth.

Signed on the dotted line and then decided, “what the Heck!?” and skipped delivery in favor of driving her the 25 miles to my home. Got more than a few looks.. hah. I can also now say this definitively, “Spyders have NO traction on loose slushy snow” - I don’t recommend it. We got through it basically idling in 2nd gear but if I even touched the throttle she started to spin on me. Almost like they weren’t meant for these conditions.. weird.

Safely in my garage, can’t wait for Spring!

Congrats on the new ride. Might have to put a car tire on the rear for better winter traction. :roflblack:

Welcome. Look in the bottom of the trunk. There is a small bag that should have the tire chains.:joke:

Congrats on your Spyder.
Consider joining our rides this year. Great group of riders. Keep an eye on the MN section for the ride dates as they are published in early spring. Rides start from Caswell's Cycle in Mora.
We are wintering in Apache Junction so no snow for us this year!

I will definitely do that! Mora is about an hour North of where we live in Blaine.

Your crazy :yikes: :roflblack:  :congrats: On the new to you Spyder ST it looks like a nice one for sure!! Welcome to the forum!

@ PW2013STL, I can vouch for you guys, I used to live in the Sandstone area, and in fact I worked for you one winter many many years ago during my divorce. Caswell Cycle is an awesome place to visit, shop, and work for. I will be coming through the area later this year, and have plans to stop in and say hello, might have to look at what kind of deals you might have on hand for a Ryker or the new RT.....good to hear from you......and even the group snowmobile rides back in the day were legendary.....

I am riding my Can Am in Western Colorado every other day, even in the bitter cold 30 degree temps, I stay out of the snow however, and the PC5, Air Intake, Two Brothers exhaust do not help with that tire being twitchy either, not one little bit....lol

:congrats: on your new ryde. You are going to love it. And...you are right on driving in snow. You cannot get enough traction. The two front wheels also act like snow plows making it even worse. When I was in AK, I always parked it from the first snow until spring. That usually meant late Oct to late March. You will have a couple more months in MN. I used to live in Duluth.

And somewhere in the manual is says do not use on snow or ice. :roflblack:
