There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Thank you, guessing u got the 6x12. They have that in stock, I’ll call them today. Thanks a lot Jay!

I called my local Haulmark Dealer. Here’s what he told me, they make 2 cargo models.
Transport: that’s the top of the line, he said I don’t need that if only using for Spyder transport (contractors buy Transport)
7x14=$5,800
6x12=$4,100
Passport (white ones). He told me to get this one:
7x14=$4,700
6x12=$3,600.
He said if I ride my Spyder there we can try both sizes out, but it’s gonna be in 20’s for the next week. 7x14 would be nice but after reading this forum, I believe 6x12 will fit my RT. They are V-nose so that adds some space. Of course they only have Transports in stock cause Passports sell out quickly, told me 1-2 weeks to get it.

In addition to length and width, also consider HEIGHT.
It is a real plus if you can ride it in without whacking your head on the roof.
Because it can be a REAL minus if that happens.

LOL!

That’s a great point ER. The 6x12 I’m looking at has a 6’ interior height. I’m 5’11.5” so guessing I’ll have to bend a bit. I’m also considering the 7x14, that one is $4,700 ($3,600 for 6x12) but both have same interior height. I’m just hoping to drive to Florida during the kids “winter recess” break (middle of February). Airfare is just crazy during those school breaks. Plus my RC was founded in Central Florida so I’d like to meet up w them for a ride.
I really appreciate everyone’s help, tons of great info/advice. Speaking of that... has anyone bought the “Black & Gray” Spyder Transport Kit? $515 for everything except rear wheel chock. Just thought I’d ask.
Thanks again
Jarred.

Well... I went Trailer shopping today. Haulmark 6x12 is no good, ramp is too narrow for Spyders. 7x14 works, no one in my area has 7x12, I can order one but it will only be $200 cheaper than 7x14. I looked at Haulmark Passport & Transport, Transport is $1k more, no exposed riviets on outside (I like that) both have good ramp/spring. Transport has some nice features, I think it’s worth the extra $1k. For everything, Passport is just shy of $6k, Transport around $7k (Transport has rings for tiedowns).
Base Price for 7x14:
Haulmark Passport= $4,700
Haulmark Transport=$5,700
CargoMate Blazer=$5,600
Also looked at the Cargo Mate Blazer, $5,600 (not including tax etc). This one has decent plywood, not a V-nose but interior is nicer than Haulmark and has no exterior rivets. I may go check out some Larks tomorrow but I just read some bad reviews. But, ive found good & bad reviews on just about every trailer I’ve researched.
Just thought I’d pass along the info I learned today.

Sounds like you've got the process well under control, and learning quite a bit doing it!

you are wasting your money on those trailers they have steel frames look for aluminum frame smooth side trailers my rt fits in 6x12 trailer ramp is tight but it works you live in north east salt rust frames they are heavier I have 6x12 haulmark 7.5x14 blizzard aluminum 6.5 inside height get better fuel mileage with aluminum buy a vnose trailer cuts wind better fuel mileage

It is your height while SEATED on the Spyder that counts.

Not really. After trying to tie down and maneuver you will soon tire of doing it bent over and your back will start talking to you. A six foot trailer will measure about 5' 10 1/2" inside height. If your taller than that spend the extra $3-500 and get the 6 1/2".

:thumbup:

Details are important.

I didn't have that problem....much......because I was hauling a 2-wheeler with a drive-on chock in the front.
And I'm pretty short too.

It is an excellent point though as I get stiff applying the straps at all 3 corners in my toy hauler.
I've been thinking of looking for drive-on chocks for the 2 front wheels to put in there.
